A Glimpse of Paradise
A Glimpse of Paradise
The greatest pleasure of the dwellers of Paradise will be the sight of their Lord. When the dwellers of Paradise see Him, they will forget everything, including all the types of pleasure…The greatest pleasure of the dwellers of Paradise will be the sight of their Lord. When the dwellers of Paradise see Him, they will forget everything, including all the types of pleasure that they had previously enjoyed.
The bounty of seeing Allah in Paradise is one of its distinct features, and is a means of Allah The Almighty honoring its dwellers:
{“[Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, Looking at their Lord.”} [Quran, 75: 22-23]
Meaning that the faces of the believers will be beautified and joyful as a result of their looking at the Face of their Lord, as was stated by Imam Al-Hasan, may Allah have mercy upon him.
Allah The Almighty also Says: {“For them who have done good is the best [reward] — and extra…”} [Quran, 10: 26] The 'best reward' in this verse refers to Paradise, and the 'extra' is to be given permission to look at the Face of Allah. The Prophet, sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam, clarified in the following narration: Suhayb, may Allah be pleased with him, reported: “The Messenger of Allah sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam said:
“When the inhabitants of Paradise enter it, Allah, the Glorious and Exalted, will say to them: `Do you wish for me to give you anything more?' They will reply: `Have You not made our faces bright? Have You not brought us into Paradise and delivered us from Hell?' Then, Allah will remove the Veil (that screens Him from the believers); the (dwellers of Paradise) will then feel that they have not been awarded anything dearer to them than looking at their Lord.” [Muslim] Then he, sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam, recited the verse (i.e., the twenty-sixth verse of Chapter Yoonus).”
Having known the greatest bounty and pleasure which the dwellers of Paradise will attain is looking at the Face of their Lord, it becomes evident how deprived the sinners are and how great their loss is. They will be prevented from seeing the Face of their Lord, as Allah The Almighty Says (what means): {“No! Indeed, from their Lord, that Day, they will be partitioned”} [Quran, 83: 15]
Reward for women in Paradise
Allah The Almighty clarifies (what means): {“And whoever does righteous deeds, whether male or female, while being a believer - those will enter Paradise and will not be wronged, [even by as much as] the speck on a date seed.”} [Quran, 4: 124] This reflects the kindness of Allah The Almighty and informs us that He will deal fairly and equally with both males and females in terms of accepting their good deeds; He will not wrong anyone by even an amount as small as the 'speck' on the date seed, which is a reference to the very fine membrane that covers it.
In this verse, Allah The Almighty informs women specifically that He will not wrong them, provided they fulfil the condition in it (which means): {“Whoever does righteousness, whether male or female, while he is a believer— We will surely cause him to live a good life, and We will surely give them their reward [in the Hereafter] according to the best of what they used to do.”} [Quran, 16: 97] Imam Ibn Katheer, may Allah have mercy upon him, said, “This is a promise from Allah to anyone from the children of Aadam, whether male or female, who perform good deeds, which (of course) are those deeds that are in accordance with the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam, and who perform them whilst their hearts believe in Allah and His Messenger, that they will live a good life.”
If women still doubt their reward in the Hereafter, then the following narration ought to put their mind at ease. Umm ‘Umarah, may Allah be pleased with her, went to the Prophet, sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam, and said, “O Messenger of Allah! Why are women not mentioned in the Quran as much as men are?” So Allah The Almighty revealed the verse (which means): {“Indeed, the Muslim men and Muslim women, the believing men and believing women, the obedient men and obedient women, the truthful men and truthful women, the patient men and patient women, the humble men and humble women, the charitable men and charitable women, the fasting men and fasting women, the men who guard their private parts and the women who do so, and the men who remember Allah often and the women who do so – for them Allah has prepared forgiveness and a great reward.”}
[Quran, 33: 35] [At-Tirmidhi]

II. The Journey into the Hereafter (part 4 of 8): The Believer and Paradise
Paradise
The believers will be ushered on towards the grand eight gates of Paradise. There, they will receive a joyous angelic reception and be congratulated on account of their safe arrival and salvation from Hell.
“But those who feared their Lord will be driven to Paradise in groups until, when they reach it while it's gates have been opened and its keepers say, ‘Peace be upon you; you have become pure; so enter it to abide eternally therein.” (Quran 39:73)
(It will be said to the pious): “O (you) the one in (complete) rest and satisfaction! Come back to your Lord, Well-pleased and well-pleasing unto Him! Enter you then among My honored slaves. Enter you My Paradise!” (Quran 89:27-30)
The best of the Muslims will enter Paradise first. The most righteous of them will ascend to the highest levels. [1]
“But whoever comes to God as a believer (in His Oneness, etc.) and has done righteous good deeds; for such are the high ranks (in the Hereafter).” (Quran 20:75)
“And the foremost (in faith) will be foremost (in the Hereafter); those are the ones brought near to God in the Gardens of Pleasure; they will enter in one rank with bright faces.” (Quran 56:10-2)
The Quranic description of Paradise gives us a vision of just what a fantastic place it is. An eternal home that will fulfill all our wholesome desires, seduce all our senses, grant us everything we could possibly want and much more besides. God describes His Paradise as having earth made of is fine musk powder,
[2] soil of saffron,
[3] bricks of gold and silver, and pebbles of pearls and rubies. Beneath the gardens of Paradise are flowing rivers of sparkling water, sweet milk, clear honey, and non-intoxicating wine. The tents on their banks are domes of hollow pearls.
[4] The whole space is filled with sparkling light, sweet-smelling plants and fragrances that can be savored from afar.
[5] There are lofty palaces, huge mansions, grapevines, date palms, pomegranate trees,
[6] lotus and acacia trees whose trunks of made of gold.
[7] Ripe, abundant fruit of all kinds: berries, citrus, drupes, grapes, melons, pomes; all kinds of fruit, tropical and exotic; anything the faithful could possibly desire! “…And therein is whatever each soul desires and delights the eyes...” (Quran 43:71)
Each believer will have a most beautiful, pious and pure spouse, wearing exquisite clothing; And there will be so much more in a new world of eternal, radiant joy.
“And no soul knows what has been hidden for them of comfort for eyes [i.e. satisfaction] as reward for what they used to do.” (Quran 32:17)
As well as physical delights, Paradise will also give its residents a state of emotional and psychological bliss, as the Prophet said:
“Whoever enters Paradise is blessed with a life of joy; he will never feel miserable, his clothes will never wear out, and his youth shall never fade away. The people will hear a divine call: ‘I grant you that you will be healthy and never fall sick, you will live and never die, you will be young and never age, you will be joyful and never feel miserable.’” (Saheeh Muslim)
Ultimately, the thing that will most delight the eyes will be the Countenance of God Himself. For the true believer, to see this blessed vision of God is to have won the ultimate prize.
“[Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, looking at their Lord.” (Quran 75:22-23)
This is the Paradise, the eternal home and final destination of the righteous believer. May God, Most High, make us worthy of it.

III. What will happen on Day of Judgement
“But when there comes the Deafening Blast On the Day a man will flee from his brother And his mother and his father And his wife and his children, For every man, that Day, will be a matter adequate for him.[Some] faces, that Day, will be bright -Laughing, rejoicing at good news. And [other] faces, that Day, will have upon them dust. Blackness will cover them. Those are the disbelievers, the wicked ones.” (Quran 80:33-42).
These verses from Surah Abasa, are indeed a true depiction of the Day of Judgement. It is a sign of what is to come and for those who have done well, the Day of Judgement bears good news and those who have done nothing but evil, they will indeed have a lot to fear.
The Trumpet and Resurrection
The Deafening Blast is a reference to the Blowing of the Horn which will mark the beginning of the Day of Judgement:
“And when the trumpet is blown with a single blast, and the earth and the mountains are removed from their places, and crushed with a single crushing, then on that Day shall the (Great) Event befall” (Quran 69:13-15).
“And the Horn will be blown, and whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on the earth will fall dead except whom Allah wills. Then it will be blown again, and at once they will be standing, looking on” (Quran 39:68).
These verses portray to us what it will be like on the Day of Judgement. Those who will be alive when the Trumpet is blown will taste death and the dead will come to life. Each man will be answerable for his own deeds and will have no one to share the burden of his deeds – may they be good or bad. For those who doubt the procession of these events, Allah clarifies in the Quran saying:
“O People, if you should be in doubt about the Resurrection, then [consider that] indeed, We created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop, then from a clinging clot, and then from a lump of flesh, formed and unformed - that We may show you. And We settle in the wombs whom We will for a specified term, then We bring you out as a child, and then [We develop you] that you may reach your [time of] maturity. And among you is he who is taken in [early] death, and among you is he who is returned to the most decrepit [old] age so that he knows, after [once having] knowledge, nothing. And you see the earth barren, but when We send down upon it rain, it quivers and swells and grows [something] of every beautiful kind. That is because Allah is the Truth and because He gives life to the dead and because He is over all things competent And [that they may know] that the Hour is coming - no doubt about it - and that Allah will resurrect those in the graves” (Quran 22:5-7).
The Resurrection of the dead and the death of all men is the Promise of our Lord and certainly, He does not go against what He promises.

Judgement
“When the earth is shaken with its [final] earthquake And the earth discharges its burdens And man says, "What is [wrong] with it?" - That Day, it will report its news Because your Lord has commanded it. That Day, the people will depart separated [into categories] to be shown [the result of] their deeds. So whoever does an atom's weight of good will see it, And whoever does an atom's weight of evil will see it” (Quran 99:1-8).
“Indeed, your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that over which they used to differ” (Quran 32:25).
The truth about everything will come forward on the Day of Judgement, all the signs in the Quran and those told by the Prophets and Apostles of Allah time and again will become known to all of the mankind. And about the unbelievers the Quran says:
“Indeed, those who disbelieve and die while they are disbelievers - never would the [whole] capacity of the earth in gold be accepted from one of them if he would [seek to] ransom himself with it. For those there will be a painful punishment, and they will have no helpers” (Quran 3:91).
Each organ of a person’s body and even the Earth and the skies will testify against him/her:
“And do not pursue that of which you have no knowledge. Indeed, the hearing, the sight and the heart - about all those [one] will be questioned” (Quran 17:36).
And there will be no way to hide any deed that man has done because Allah knows all that is in the past and all that is in our hearts.
“The Day every soul will find what it has done of good present [before it] and what it has done of evil, it will wish that between itself and that [evil] was a great distance. And Allah warns you of Himself, and Allah is Kind to [His] servants” (Quran 3:30).
The accounts of every man and his deeds will be opened, clarified and judged by Allah and verdicts will be passed. And those who were the pious and good men of Allah will see Paradise and those who did nothing but create havoc and were the evil doers, they will surely see Hell.
Justice
“And We place the scales of justice for the Day of Resurrection, so no soul will be treated unjustly at all. And if there is [even] the weight of a mustard seed, We will bring it forth. And sufficient are We as accountant” (Quran 21:47).
“And fear a Day when you will be returned to Allah . Then every soul will be compensated for what it earned, and they will not be treated unjustly” (Quran 2:281).
The Day of Judgement will surely be a testing time for all of the mankind but Allah Almighty has promised justice for all and we should expect it.

IV. Chapter 80, Verses 33-42: A Description of Judgement Day
"Some faces, that Day, will be bright – laughing, rejoicing at good news." (Quran 80:38-39) These verses describe the conditions of the believers after the two groups (believers and the unbelievers) have been assigned their values by divine standards and given their respective positions. These faces beam with a happiness overflowing with delight. They are hopeful and reassured because they feel that their Lord is pleased with them. These people are spared the terror of the deafening blast, so they can afford to smile and demonstrate their joy. Or probably the smiles and manifestations of happiness are seen after these people have realized the good end awaiting them.
