Reminders Benefit the Believers
Reminders Benefit the Believers
Based on a lecture "Al-Khawf min Allah" by Sh. Waheed `Abdussalam Baali
"Has not the time come for the hearts of those who believe to be affected by Allah's Reminder and that which has been revealed of the truth, lest they become as those who received the Scripture before, and the term was prolonged for them and so their hearts were hardened? And many of them were rebellious, disobedient (faasiqoon)."
[Al-Hadeed, (57):16]
Allah sent to us the Qur'an and "the skins of those who fear their Lord shiver from it (when they recite it or hear it). Then their skin and their heart soften to the remembrance of Allah."
[39:23]
He mentioned in the Qur'an the promise and the threat, and made clear that His believing servants are fearful and shivering from the punishment of their Lord. Our Lord the Exalted elucidated to us that the believer, whenever his iman strengthens and his certainty increases, becomes more fearful of Allah.
WEEPING OF THE PROPHET, SALLALLAHU `ALAYHI WA SALLAM
HADITH 1:
The Prophet, sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam, said to `Abdullah ibn Mas`ood رضي الله عنه , "Read to me the Qur'an." He said, "O Messenger of Allah! Should I recite to you and it was revealed to you?" He said, "Yes, for I like to hear it from others." "I recited Soorat an-Nisaaa' until I reached the ayah,
"How (will it be) then, when We bring from each nation a witness and We bring you (O Muhammad) as a witness against these people?"
[An-Nisaa' (4):41]
He then said, 'Stop now.' I found that his eyes were tearful."
REFERENCE: [Fath al-Bari 8:712]
HADITH 2:
Abdullah ibn ash-Shikhkheer, radhiallahu `anhu, said:
"I saw the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam, praying with us, and I heard the sound of his weeping coming out of his chest, which was like the sound of a boiling pot."
REFERENCE:
[Abu Dawood, An-Nasaa'i, and At-Tirmidhi in ash-Shama'il, authenticated by Ibn Khuzaymah, Ibn Hibban and Al-Hakim]
WEEPING OF ABU BAKR, RADHIALLAHU `ANHU
`Aaisha رضي الله عنها said,
"During his illness, the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu `alaihi wa sallam, said: 'Order Abu Bakr to lead the prayer.' I told the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu `alaihi wa sallam, that, 'Indeed, if Abu Bakr stands in your place the people will not be able to hear him due to his (excessive) weeping.'"
REFERENCE: [al-Bukhari]
OUR WEEPING
The righteous have cried, the worshippers have cried and the believers have cried. And in this time there are people by whom a complete year passes and they do not drop a single tear from the fear of Allah.
O Allah we seek refuge with you from hard hearts. O Allah soften our hearts to Your remembrance!
"Those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism), and whose hearts find rest in the remembrance of Allah, Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest."
[Ar-Ra'd (13):28]
"The believers are only those who, when Allah is mentioned, feel a fear in their hearts and when His Verses (this Qur'an) are recited unto them, they increase their Faith; and they put their trust in their Lord (Alone)."
[Al-Anfaal (8):2]
SO WHY DO WE NOT CRY TODAY?
We do not cry from the strength of the hardness of our hearts and our hearts' attachment to this world. So our hearts have hardened and our eyes have dried. We are distant from our Lord. Had we been close our hearts would not have hardened. So he, who spends a whole week without his eye dropping a tear, let him sit and supplicate and humble himself. Maybe his heart would soften and his eye would drop a tear. And if his heart doesn’t drop a tear, then let him open the Book of Allah and read its ayat with contemplation, humility and submissiveness. So if his eye cries, his heart fears and his soul humbles he has succeeded; and if he continues in the state of the hardened heart, let him sit in a dark room and weep over his state, for his heart has died.

Reminder benefits only those who fear Allah
source:https://www.harun-yahya.net/en/Never-Forget/102608/reminder-benefits-only-those-who
And remind them, for truly the believers benefit from being reminded. (Surat adh-Dhariyat: 55)
In the life of this world, Allah grants people a life long enough to take lessons from the many reminders He offers them. Essentially, there are many things that happen to a person in the course of his life that are to be regarded as reminders. For example, deaths being reported in the news or those we witness ourselves, should be taken as warnings. By these examples, Allah reminds us that we too may also meet our deaths at any moment. Likewise, physical weaknesses we cannot forestall are also reminders from our Lord. As mentioned earlier, Allah creates these weaknesses in man to make him understand that this world is not worthy of being devoted to. In addition, the loss of certain blessings or some disaster may also be a reminder from Allah. Though a person may be very beautiful or wealthy, by the Will of Allah, it may take only an instant for him or her to lose his beauty or possessions.
Never forget that any of these instances are simply reminders from Allah to His servants as a mercy, and that we must reflect upon them, and proceed along the straight path to which He summons us. However, as stated in the Qur'an, while these reminders benefit believers, they only upset those who are arrogant towards Allah:
Remind, then, if the reminder benefits. He who has fear will be reminded; but the most miserable will shun it. (Surat al-A'la: 9-11)
Again, never forget that Allah has sent the Qur'an to mankind as a guide, a warning and reminder, as stated in the Qur'an:
We have made things clear in this Qur'an so that they might pay heed, but it only makes them run away the more! (Surat al-Isra': 41)
There are many verses in the Qur'an which relate the fact that many reminders and warnings are given to people. Therefore, whoever ignores and turns away from them deserves to be punished. This is made clear in the Qur'an as follows:
As a reminder. We were never unjust. (Surat ash-Shu'ara': 209)
He warned them of Our onslaught but they dismissed the warnings. (Surat al-Qamar: 36)
Never forget that all the reminders you receive are actually coming from Allah. Allah has informed His servants, by way of His messengers and books, about His commands, and has made them know how they may conduct themselves in order to please Him.Allah has charged believers with the task of enjoining the good, forbidding the wrong and reminding of the truth. Therefore, every reminder a believer receives is important. The Qur'an advises people to enjoin good and forbid evil and to remind one another of their responsibilities. In this manner, Allah's messengers warned their people in order to save them from the eternal torment:
Mankind was a single community. Then Allah sent out Prophets bringing good news and giving warning, and with them He sent down the Book with truth to decide between people regarding their differences. Only those who were given it differed about it, after the Clear Signs had come to them, envying one another. Then, by His permission, Allah guided those who believed to the truth of that about which they had differed. Allah guides whoever He wills to a straight path. (Surat al-Baqara: 213)
People of the Book! Our Messenger has come to you, making things clear to you, after a period with no Messengers, lest you should say, "No one came to us bringing good news or warning." Someone has come to you bringing good news and a warning. Allah has power over all things. (Surat al-Ma'ida: 19)
The Qur'an repeatedly stresses the importance of obedience to messengers. That is because, once the messenger clearly conveys the message of the Book and the religion to his people, there remains no longer any excuse they can make to Allah:
Messengers bringing good news and giving warning, so that people will have no argument against Allah after the coming of the Messengers. Allah is Almighty, All-Wise. (Surat an-Nisa': 165)
Prophet Nuh's summoning his people to the religion, their insistence on rejecting it, and the terrible end they suffered, are all related in the Qur'an as lessons to be retained by the generations that followed after them:
We sent Nuh to his people: "Warn your people before a painful punishment comes to them." He said, "My people, I am a clear warner to you. Worship Allah, heed Him and obey me. He will forgive you your wrong actions and defer you until a specified time. When Allah's time comes it cannot be deferred, if you only knew." He said, "My Lord, I have called my people night and day but my calling has only made them more evasive. Indeed, every time I called them to Your forgiveness, they put their fingers in their ears, wrapped themselves up in their clothes and were overweeningly arrogant. Then I called them openly. Then I addressed them publicly and addressed them privately. I said, 'Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Truly He is Endlessly Forgiving.'" (Surah Nuh: 1-10)
They said, "Nuh, you have argued with us and argued much so bring us what you have promised us if you are telling the truth." He said, "Allah will bring it to you if He wills and you will not be able to prevent it. My counsel will not benefit you, for all my desire to counsel you, if Allah desires to lead you into error. He is your Lord and you will return to Him." Or do they say, "He has invented it"? Say: "If I have invented it the crime will be laid at my door, but I am innocent of the crimes which you commit." It was revealed to Nuh: "None of your people are going to believe except for those who already believe, so do not be distressed at what they do." (Surah Hud: 32-36)
Another example related in the Qu'ran is that of the tribe of Israel, who failed to heed the reminders sent to them or to redress their wrongdoings. For that reason, their hearts grew hard, and were deprived of compassion:
Allah made a covenant with the tribe of Israel and We raised up twelve leaders from among them. Allah said, "I am with you. If you establish prayer and pay alms, and believe in My Messengers and respect and support them, and make a generous loan to Allah, I will erase your wrong actions from you and admit you into Gardens with rivers flowing under them. Any of you who disbelieve after that have gone astray from the right way." But because of their breaking of their covenant, We have cursed them and made their hearts hard. They distort the true meaning of words and have forgotten a good portion of what they were reminded of. You will never cease to come upon some act of treachery on their part, except for a few of them. Yet pardon them, and overlook. Allah loves good-doers. (Surat al-Ma'ida: 12-13)
In the Qur'an, Allah relates of the various methods employed by messengers and truthful believers who followed them to guide their people to Allah's religion. Important stages in the history of past civilizations are narrated in the Qur'an, the only guide of the path of truth delineated for the human beings, so that the succeeding generations could draw lessons:
What are they waiting for but the same fate as those who passed away before them? Say: "Wait, I will be among the people waiting with you." (Surah Yunus: 102)
Never forget that these reminders benefit only those who fear Allah, whereas those without such fear cannot reflect upon nor draw lessons from them.Allah relates this condition of the rejecters as follows:
As for those who are disbelievers, it makes no difference to them whether you warn them or do not warn them, they will not believe. Allah has sealed up their hearts and hearing and over their eyes is a blindfold. They will have a terrible punishment. (Surat al-Baqara: 6-7)
To turn away from the warnings of our Lord, and to forget those deeds one has done, is actually "a great wrong." Thus, Allah has obscured their understanding and deprived them of His blessings. That is because they are the ones who will never be guided:
Who could do greater wrong than someone who is reminded of the Signs of his Lord and then turns away from them, forgetting all that he has done before? We have placed covers on their hearts, preventing them from understanding it, and heaviness in their ears. Though you call them to guidance, they will nonetheless never be guided. (Surat al-Kahf: 57)
Still however, Allah has sent reminders to them by way of the Qur'an, in the chance that they may heed them because, the punishment they will face will be beyond what they could image. Never forget that the situation of those who insist on not heeding the reminders of Allah will be as follows:
Then when they forgot what they had been reminded of, We rescued those who had forbidden the evil and seized those who did wrong with a harsh punishment because they were deviators. (Surat al-A'raf: 165)
Allah, Who has made the commandments of the Qur'an obligatory upon us, wishes no difficulty for His servants. On the contrary, He makes His servants' lives easy here in this world, as well as giving them the glad tidings of Paradise, an infinitely beautiful abode they will soon enter. Allah, the All-Compassionate and Merciful, also promises to forgive the wrongdoings of His servants who pray to Him. This being the case, what is incumbent upon man is to fear Allah and to worship Him as is His due:
Turn to your Lord and submit to Him before punishment comes upon you, for then you cannot be helped. Follow the best that has been sent down to you from your Lord before the punishment comes upon you suddenly when you are not expecting it; lest anyone should say, "Alas for me for neglecting what Allah was due, and being one of the scoffers!" (Surat az-Zumar: 54-56)
Actually, whether or not a person heeds these warnings and conducts himself responsibly towards His Creator, or neglects and forgets every reminder he receives, the fact remains that we are all rushing towards that moment when every soul will be called to give account of his or her deeds. Allah, Who never errs or forgets, will gather all people for reckoning:
...You will be returned to the Knower of the Unseen and the Visible and He will inform you regarding what you did. (Surat at-Tawba: 105)
This being the case, never forget that a reminder that you hear may be your last warning from your Lord, your last chance. If you do not want to suffer the eternal torment, remember that the only way to be saved from punishment is to repent and to become a true servant to Allah.
Do not be like those who forgot Allah so He made them forget themselves. Such people are the deviators. (Surat al-Hashr: 19)
You will remember what I say to you. I consign my affair completely to Allah. Truly Allah sees His servants. (Surah Ghafir: 44)
What you have been reminded of in this book are the facts that a person who believes in Allah does not have the permission or opportunity to choose to be neglectful. Because, this is a choice whose outcome will be an eternal life either in Paradise or in Hell. For this reason, a person who fears Allah, and is certain about the hereafter, strictly avoids anything that is likely to place the outcome of his eternal life at risk. For the same reason, he welcomes whatever advice and reminders that will be beneficial for his life in the hereafter. Being proud or arrogant, on the other hand, are attitudes peculiar to disbelievers. Aware that every reminder is intended to save him from the Fire, a believer reflects humbly upon them.
Imagining oneself along the ramparts, as mentioned in the Qur'an, is the true criteria on which one's sincerity in his conduct is based. The rampart is the place where a soul—uncertain yet of where it will be placed, although he can actually see Paradise and Hell, respectively—waits to hear Allah's judgment over him. The relevant verses of the Qur'an are as follows:
There will be a dividing wall between them and on the ramparts there will be men who recognize everyone by their mark. They will call out to the people of the Garden: "Peace be upon you!" They will not enter it for all their ardent desire to do so. When they turn their eyes towards the Companions of the Fire, they will say, "Our Lord, do not place us with the people of the wrongdoers!" (Surat al-A'raf: 46-47)
Image yourself along the ramparts, somewhere between Paradise and Hell: how could you possibly forget something likely to land you in Hell, while you are there on the brink of it?
By the same token, could you ignore a reminder likely to put at risk your attainment of Paradise, while it is so close? Or, would you become upset when somebody reminds you about it? Rather, you would feel grateful to the person for the reminder.
This criteria on which sincerity is determined also holds true for the scales of justice that will be set up to measure the people's deeds on the Day of Judgment. On that day, every soul will be in need of every good deed on its behalf, even if it were no more than the weight of a grain. Similarly, he will want to be far removed from any of his wrongdoings, even if it were no more than the weight of a grain. The scales will be so sensitive that even the weight of a single grain on one pan could make a difference concerning one's after-life.
Therefore, enjoining good and forbidding evil, summoning people to the path of Allah, and warning people about the Day of Judgment, are great blessings for man, who is prone to be forgetful. The reason why the people of Hell are decreed Hell is related in the Qur'an as follows:
Those who took their religion as a diversion and a game, and were deluded by the life of the world. Today We will forget them just as they forgot the encounter of this Day and denied Our Signs. (Surat al-A'raf: 51)
It tends to be that people pay attention most to issues for which they will receive some sort of profit. For example, if a person is offered a huge sum of money if he completes a task by the end of the day, we can imagine attentively and eagerly he will pursue it. Likewise, he would be acutely alert and attentive if he knew his neglect or failure to accomplish the task would entail severe punishment.
The eagerness of the believers, and their vigilance against neglect, result from their unswerving faith in the hereafter, and in the existence of Paradise and Hell. This is why believers abide by this truth all through their lives, and are destined eventually enter Paradise "for what they did before in days gone by." (Surat al-Haqqa: 24)
This being the case, always bear in mind the situation of the people who fearfully wait on the ramparts. Never forget that that time and place described in the Qur'an are more certain than the reality in which you are living right at this moment, and that all reminders made to you are to summon you to salvation and eternal life in Paradise.
How to Benefit from Admonitions in the Quran
You just don’t listen!”
“Where are you lost?”
“Are you paying attention to what I am saying?”
How often I heard these words as a child, whether they were directed at me, or at other students around me.
These exclamations from teachers would mostly succeed in jolting us students back to reality, effectively ‘popping’ the stance-like reverie or daydream that we were lost in during a class at school or college.
Even at home, parents or other elders used these words whenever they got exasperated by our not heeding their repeated reminders to do something immediately, as if we couldn’t ‘hear’ them at all despite the fact that they were right there in front of us!
One of the amazing truths about human psychology is that all human beings have the tendency to get ‘lost in space’ in a spiritual sense, i.e. while a person might be physically present in one realm, their minds could be elsewhere, effectively distancing them from getting affected by the stimuli of their physical environs.
What happens as a result is, that while they might be ‘hearing’ the sounds around them in the room or environment, they are not actually listening to anything being said, because their mind is not registering or ‘witnessing’ the words being said. In fact, because their mind, intellect and focus is riveted elsewhere (called ‘being lost in thought’), they are actually ‘absent’ from their physical environment.
Because of this lack of ‘witness’, i.e. their minds not being in focus, or their intellect being disconnected from their immediate environmental stimuli, they do not get affected by anything that is said or done around them.
Does Admonition in the Quran Affect Everyone?
I was very young when I enrolled in an Islamic education diploma course that took me through the explanation of the entire Quran, all praise to Allah. However, very soon I started witnessing a perplexing phenomenon in class, which greatly intrigued me at that time.
I noticed how some students got very affected by the explanations of certain portions of the Quran, but others remained completely untouched (and unchanged) by them.
This disparity in the effect of the Quran became obvious through the students’ body language during class, primarily their facial expressions, and the differences in the changes in their conduct, behavior, dealings, and attitudes towards others thenceforth.
Some students would cry with soft sniffles when certain verses of the Quran were explained, and others would listen teary-eyed. Some would nod their heads in agreement, whilst some would have gleeful or admiring expressions on their faces. And yet others would remain completely still as if transfixed, their gazes down and their faces depicting penitence.
However, there were some who’d remain visibly unmoved. They would continue to write vigorously to take notes just like the rest of the students in class, but otherwise, no apparent effects of the admonitions in the Quran were visible on their persona.
It was as if they were physically there in class, but their hearts and minds were not. As if the effect of the Quran on them was not significantly different from that of any other course or workshop that they had attended to further their knowledge.
Who Benefits From Quranic Reminders?
In Surah Qaf, Allah mentions what a believer has to have, and what they need to do, in order for the reminders in the Quran to have a positive and beneficial impact upon them:
{In this, behold, there is indeed a reminder for everyone whose heart is wide-awake – that is, [everyone who] gives ear while he is heedful..} (50:37)
According to Tafsir ibn Kathir, “or gives ear while he is heedful” means, “he hears the speech, comprehends and understands it in his mind, and grasps its indications with his intellect. Mujahid said that “or gives an ear”, means, he does not talk to himself but listens with an attentive heart.”
The Arabic words that occur in this verse of the Quran are “qalb” – the heart – and “alqa al-sam`a” – giving an attentive ear. The heart is mentioned first, because it is the seat of Islamic faith and belief (aqeedah), which forms the foundation of everything else, i.e. a believer’s actions.
After mentioning the heart, Allah stresses the importance of being mentally ‘present’ or attentive, as a witness, with one’s full focus on listening to what is being said (i.e. recited or explained) of the Quran.
It becomes clear, then, that the reason why the effect of the Quran varies from person to person in the same gathering, even though they all are listening to the same admonishments of the Quran, spoken by the same teacher or preacher, is the varying states of receptiveness of their hearts, and the different levels of mental attentiveness and focus with which they are listening to the spoken words.
Meaning of to “Have a Heart”
The condition of a person’s heart determines their receptiveness towards Divinely revealed admonishment. A heart that is darkened by sins over time becomes dead and hardened, so that sincere reminders of Deen do not have a humbling effect upon it.
This effect of sins also becomes apparent on a person’s ability to listen keenly and with focus to the recitation of the Quran, as well as to its verbal explanations and admonitions. A person whose heart is hard will not be able to listen to the Quran, nor to any Islamic lecture or talk.
Either they will get up and immediately leave the room or gathering where the admonition is unwittingly falling into their ears, or they will try to switch the topic of conversation, or they will hastily occupy themselves with something else to divert their mental and visual attention, such as calling someone up on their phone or opening up a book/magazine to read.
Eventually, as a person drifts more and more away from Deen, neglecting to fulfill any of its obligations completely, their aqeedah (belief system) itself becomes shaky and distorted, and their heart completely loses the ability to take heed from the Quran.
Allah calls this intangible “veil” or barrier that is created as a result of a person’s sins, which firmly erects itself between their heart and the admonition of the Quran, and prevents the letter from entering it, a hidden “hijab” that He places there Himself:
{When you recite the Quran, We put, between you and those who believe not in the Hereafter, a veil invisible.} (17:45)
Conclusion: Analyze Yourself
It is very important for any Muslim to keep a strict self-check on the state of their hearts, and to the keenness and attentiveness with which they listen to an Islamic lecture or talk which includes explanations of the verses of the Quran, in particular, reminders of the punishment and rewards from Allah that await evil and righteous deeds, respectively.
When the Quran is being recited and/or explained, do you want to immediately quell all other noises, distractions, and activities to listen in, attentively and keenly? Or do you start feeling panicked and cornered, or bored, frantically wanting to change the topic, or leave the place immediately in order to avoid listening to admonishment?
How do you feel whenever someone starts talking about the Akhirah, (the Hereafter), or the punishments that were meted out by Allah to past transgressing nations?
Do you feel humbled and awestruck by the power of the strong words of the Quran?
Or do you feel suffocated and doubtful, having disdainful and resentful thoughts about the speaker or the topic being discussed?
It is when we will rectify the beliefs in our own hearts, humble ourselves before Allah, repent sincerely for our sins (in order to permanently wipe them, making our hearts clean again), and thus start with a fresh slate, that Allah will grant us the guidance and ability to listen in with full mental focus and an attentive ear when the Quran is being recited, explained and discussed.
And that is only when the admonishments and reminders in the Quran will be able to benefit us, Insha’Allah

Is There any Who Will Take Admonition?
Surely, death has agonies the extent and severity of which are known only by those who have experienced it. The dying person loses his voice and the ability to scream out in pain; death impairs his body and weakens his limbs and senses, and leaves him with no energy to ask for help. His color changes and each part of his body feels the misery of death until his soul reaches his throat and he loses the link with this life; whereupon he becomes miserable if he is amongst the sinners or joyful if he is from the pious.
Aa’ishah, may Allah be pleased with her, said, ‘During his death sickness, the Prophet had a bowl of water in which he used to dip his hand then wipe his face and say: “There is none worthy of worship but Allah; indeed death has agonies.” [Al-Bukhari] In another narration, he used to say: "O Allah! Help me through the agonies of death.” [At-Tirmithi].
Yazeed ibn Tameem said: ‘One who is not prevented from sinning by remembering death and hearing the Quran, nothing else can prevent him, even if he were to see the mountains move in front of his very eyes."
It is narrated that one of the Prophets said to the Angel of Death, ‘Do you not have any messengers whom you send before you arrive, so that people can be aware?’ The angel replied, ‘Indeed, I have many messengers; illnesses, gray hair, anxieties and weakness in hearing and sight.'
Allah The Almighty has left no excuses for people by sending these messengers, as He says (what means):
⦁ {“And We never punish until We have sent a Messenger (to give warning).”} [Quran, 16: 15)
⦁ {“And the warner came to you.”} [Quran, 35: 37]
It was said that this refers to the Quran and the Messengers of Allah; however, Ibn Abbaas, may Allah be pleased with him, said ‘It is when one becomes gray-haired.’
Is it not time for the heedless to ponder over the agonies of death and its bitter difficulties. Death is a promise and a certain event which will definitely come true; the thought of death is enough to lacerate the heart, bring tears to the eyes of the most hard-hearted ones, destroy one's enjoyment of the pleasures of life and prevent one from having long-term hopes and overreaching ambitions for this life.
Does not the one who is hoarding wealth, eager to build and prosper in this life realize that the only wealth he has is his shroud? Riches will eventually vanish, your body will mix with dust. What will happen to the treasures you accumulate? Will they rescue you from the agonies of death? Indeed not! You will be leaving them all behind.
The ones who said interpreting the saying of Allah The Almighty (which means): {“And forget not your portion of lawful enjoyment in this world.”} [Quran, 28: 77) to mean the shroud have done well in interpreting. It is connected to the previous part of the verse where Allah The Almighty Says (what means): {“But seek, with that (wealth) which Allah has bestowed on you, the home of the Hereafter.”} [Quran, 28: 77] meaning, seek the rewards in the Hereafter (Paradise) by utilizing what Allah The Almighty has granted you in this life. It is a duty upon the Muslim to utilize what Allah The Almighty granted him in this life to gain the benefit of the Hereafter; so it is just like saying: 'Do not leave all your wealth behind to be used for your funeral.'
It istime we asked ourselves these questions:
⦁ What is our preparation for death and its agonies?
⦁ What is our preparation for the pressing of the grave?
⦁ What is our preparation for answering the two angels in the grave?
⦁ What is our preparation for the meeting with Allah, the Most High, the All-Competent?
All our worldly pursuits pale into insignificance beside these all-important questions, upon which depends our happiness and success not just in this world, but in the eternal Hereafter.
