Scientific evidence can go a long way in removing doubts about Almighty God -

Scientific evidences lead to faith

When we read the Qur’an we see that the most fundamental matters that Muslims have to know and understand are set out quite explicitly.

Allah describes His creation in the Qur’an. He describes Satan, reveals what is lawful and unlawful and tells us of the lives of the prophets (peace be upon them). It is revealed how the life of this world is a test and how our true homes are in the Hereafter. Paradise and Hell are described in the Qur’an and people are warned against the torments in the latter.

In addition to all these basic issues, the Qur’an also contains special signs that Allah has deliberately concealed in it for believers. Through these signs, our Lord tells believers how they should behave toward deniers, the best way of preaching the word and what they must do if the moral values of the Qur’an are to rule the world. These signs are only, of course, comprehensible to those servants who can look at the Qur’an with the eyes of the heart and good conscience, who can grasp the radiance and message of the Qur’an, and with whom Allah is well pleased. This is just one of the hundreds of miracles of the Qur’an.

The presence in the Qur’an of scientific and mathematical miracles is itself a miracle that confirms the sublime nature of the Qur’an, its miraculous aspect and the fact that it is a divine scripture. But in addition to that specific miracle, when we look at the verses of the Qur’an we see that Allah makes science obligatory for believers. Allah advises believers to reflect on the extraordinary creation they witness and to learn the knowledge of the creation of the Earth and sky. In Surah Ale-Imran, our Lord says: “Those who remember Allah, standing, sitting and lying on their sides, and reflect on the creation of the heavens and the Earth saying: ‘Our Lord, You have not created this for nothing. Glory be to You! So safeguard us from the punishment of the Fire’.” (Qur’an, 3:191)

Scientific development and progress proves the sublime and extraordinary nature of Allah’s creation in the most perfect way. The more that people of good conscience possessed of this knowledge deepen in science, the more amazed they are by Allah’s sublime artistry. Just a single cell, the glorious DNA within a single cell or a single protein is enough to see the power and might of Allah. Almighty Allah is powerful enough to create worlds within worlds, to create all things from nothing, and gloriously shows His sublime omniscience by creating atoms in tiny specks of space and making atoms, which themselves consist of 99 percent empty space, the natural causes of matter itself. Almighty Allah is powerful enough to bring the Earth and sky into being through a single explosion, out of nothing, out of emptiness. Almighty Allah reveals this sublime creation, the Big Bang miracle in other words, in this verse: “As for heaven, We built it with great power and gave it its vast expanse.” (Qur’an, 51:47)

Almighty Allah has made science essential for Muslims in order for them to comprehend and see His matchless artistry and the glories in the entities He creates. Those who deepen in science with the knowledge of the Qur’an will also grow in faith since they will witness His omniscience. Allah tells us in another verse: “But those of them who are firmly rooted in knowledge, and the believers, believe in what has been sent down to you and what was sent down before you: Those who establish prayer and pay alms, and believe in Allah and the Last Day, We will pay such people an immense wage.” (Qur’an, 4:162)

For that reason, Allah advises true Muslims to learn and research the scientific facts and to become aware of what is all around them: “Have they not looked at the sky above them: How We structured it and made it beautiful and how there are no fissures in it? And the Earth: How We stretched it out and cast firmly embedded mountains onto it and caused luxuriant plants of every kind to grow in it, an instruction and a reminder for every penitent human being.” (Qur’an, 50:6-8)

As believers grasp and see the scientific facts and grow in faith by studying Allah’s stunning artistry they will also come to possess the means of overcoming, using science and knowledge, the snares of those who slander Allah using supposed evidence. Those who adopt chance, nature and matter as their gods by seeking to deny Allah’s magnificent creation will be defeated in the face of the artistry displayed by our Lord and their false claims thus demolished. All the superstitious evidence brought forward by these people is eliminated by science and their empty struggles against Allah are all for nothing.

Allah advises people to reflect on creation, and the miraculous systems and each of the extraordinary 100 trillion cells that emerge in so doing by themselves rebut all these superstitious claims. Allah advises us to consider the creation of the heavens, and His creation through the Big Bang and the extraordinary equilibrium in the universe again eliminate this superstitious way of thinking. Allah advises us to look at the evidence in the Earth, and those glorious marvels of creation.

One wise aspect behind the evidence for Allah’s creation that believers produce with knowledge and science is that it enables some people who blindly and ignorantly believed other people with their materialist mindsets to conclude, through the scientific evidence, that Allah is the sole Creator. The scientific evidence is instrumental in these people seeing the omnipotence of Allah in the things He creates and thus in coming to have faith.

A single tree, a single leaf or even a single seed is certainly enough to see the glory and Absolute Existence of our Almighty Lord. But for the pure and faithful who truly believe, seeing the extraordinary artistry in Allah’s detail by way of science is a great means whereby they can properly appreciate the might and greatness of Allah. It is for that reason that Almighty Allah has made science obligatory for all believers.

2) A Joint Effort to Elaborate on God’s Creation

The International Conference on the Origin of Life and the Universe was held by the Technics & Science Research Foundation in collaboration with Reasons to Believe on August 24th, 2016 in Istanbul. The event hosted scientists from the USA and Turkey as keynote speakers.

With the attendance of academicians, researchers, students and businessmen from various countries, this important international conference took on a remarkable responsibility in highlighting the importance of science and sharing the scientific data conveyed by the latest scientific developments. Hosting leading academicians, all experts in their respective areas, the conference proved that genetics, biology, paleontology, physics, chemistry and astrophysics all answer the question ‘How did life begin?’ with ‘Creation’.

Key Scientific Points Collapsing Evolutionary Dogma -

One of the scientists attending the conference, Dr. Fazale Rana, who is a biochemist and the Vice President of Reasons to Believe, delivered his speech, “Why do I believe God exists?” He asserted with the following words, “I was convinced that chemical and physical processes alone could not generate life itself. This realization, coupled with the elegant design and biochemical systems, forced me to the conclusion — for intellectual reasons alone — that a Creator must indeed exist and must have been responsible for bringing life into being.”

The topic of the second speech, given by molecular biologist Dr. Anjeanette Roberts, was “Equivocating Evolution.” Dr. Roberts’ talk was primarily focused on the misuse of some  terms and how the scientific data points to a highly complex, diversified creation, “… Creationism is a reasonable and rational conclusion, concordant with the data, accounting for the diversity and early appearance of complex life. And it also accounts for the fine-tuning and intelligibility of the universe…”

Astrophysicist Dr. Jeff Zweerink made important remarks on ‘The Beginning and Creation of the Universe.’ He said, “However, close inspection of the latest scientific evidence provides strong evidence that God exists. The Torah and prophets describe a universe that began to exist, one governed by constant laws of physics and expanded by God over time. Inflationary big bang cosmology affirms that we live in a universe matching this description. Our universe shows exquisite fine-tuning for life to exist. It looks designed for life!”

In his speech entitled, ‘The Collapse of the Theory of Evolution and the Fact of Creation,’ neurosurgeon Dr. Oktar Babuna affirmed, “The most powerful and fundamental evidence, which refutes Darwinism, is the impossibility of proteins to emerge by chance. The point that really needs to be emphasized here is this: there have to be other proteins for proteins to come into existence. The reason for this is that proteins can only be produced by other proteins that function as enzymes. In order to produce just a single protein molecule, at least 100 different enzymes (proteins), DNA, ribosomes, mitochondria must exist. In other words, a complete living cell with all of its organelles is needed to produce just a single protein.”

Science Is Vital In Observing God’s Creation In The Universe

All these scientific findings point us in the direction of Creation. Albert Einstein once said, “The scientists’ religious feeling takes the form of a rapturous amazement at the harmony of natural law, which reveals an intelligence of such superiority that, compared with it, all the systematic thinking and acting of human beings is an utterly insignificant reflection. The owner of this awe-inspiring intelligence is God.” Actually, we don’t need to hear this truth from a scientist to understand this obvious fact; our own intelligence is enough to show us the existence of a Creator because we all have the capability of assessing what we see and come to a conclusion.

Reason and scientific evidence reveals God’s Creation throughout the universe. All the divine faiths teach us this fact, which makes science compatible with religion. Needless to say, science and technology, which advance at a mind-boggling rate, are our biggest helpers in this understanding. Everywhere we look, we see an incredible order; from the perfect mechanisms of millions of different species to the endless variety of vegetables and fruits, from the delicate balances on our planet to the precise levels of oxygen in the air. Knowing and seeing all of this is enough to make us clearly realize the existence of God, Who has infinite wisdom.

God Informs of His Creation of the Heavens and the Earth in Scripture

“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.” (Psalm 19:1-4)

“Everything is obedient to Him. The Originator of the Heavens and Earth. When He decides on something, He just says to it, ‘Be!’ and it is.” (Surat al-Baqara, 117).

In his beautiful and heartfelt words praising our Lord’s great artistry, Dr. AJ Roberts summarizes how believers from all walks of life use their insight in appreciating God’s Creation: “Nature is a reliable revelation of God. The Scriptures tell us that God reveals Himself in nature. And He has created us for inquiry and discovery. He wants to be known. In conclusion, God wants to be known and He has revealed Himself clearly to those who have an open mind and a humble heart.”

Be they Christian or Muslim, believers are in awe and take great pleasure in contemplating  God’s Signs day and night, knowing that science is a great tool and a blessing for us all.

Astrophysicist Jeff Zweerink writes and speaks on the compatibility of faith and science and on evidence for creation from a multiverse theory, dark energy and dark matter, and exoplanets. His speaking engagements take him to universities, churches, and other venues around the world, including high schools and youth groups.

Prior to joining RTB, Jeff Zweerink spent much time working on the STACEE and VERITAS gamma-ray telescopes and was involved in research projects such as the Solar Two Project and the Whipple Collaboration. He still holds a part-time position at UCLA and is working on GAPS, a balloon experiment seeking to detect dark matter. Jeff Zweerink is coauthor on more than 30 papers published in peer-reviewed journals, such as Astrophysical Journal, and Astroparticle Physics, and Astrobiology, as well as numerous conference proceedings.

Scientists confirm the sign of God

The attributes of the universe discovered by science point to the existence of God. Science leads us to the conclusion that the universe has a Creator and this Creator is perfect in might, wisdom and knowledge. It is religion that shows us the way in knowing God. It is therefore possible to say that science is a method we use to better see and investigate the realities addressed by religion. Nevertheless, today, some of the scientists who step forth in the name of science take an entirely different stand. In their view, scientific discoveries do not imply the creation of God. They have, on the contrary, projected an atheistic understanding of science by saying that it is not possible to reach God through scientific data: they claim that science and religion are two clashing notions.

As a matter of fact, this atheistic understanding of science is quite recent. Until a few centuries ago, science and religion were never thought to clash with each other, and science was accepted as a method of proving the existence of God. The so-called atheistic understanding of science flourished only after the materialist and positivist philosophies swept through the world of science in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Particularly after Charles Darwin postulated the theory of evolution in 1859, circles holding a materialistic world view started to ideologically defend this theory, which they looked upon as an alternative to religion. The theory of evolution argued that the universe was not created by a creator but came into being by chance. As a result, it was asserted that religion was in conflict with science. The British researchers Michael Baigent, Richard Leigh and Henry Lincoln said on this issue:

For Isaac Newton, a century and a half before Darwin, science was not separate from religion but, on the contrary, an aspect of religion, and ultimately subservient to it. ...But the science of Darwin's time became precisely that, divorcing itself from the context in which it had previously existed and establishing itself as a rival absolute, an alternative repository of meaning. As a result, religion and science were no longer working in concert, but rather stood opposed to each other, and humanity was increasingly forced to choose between them. (Michael Baigent, Richard Leigh, Henry Lincoln, The Messianic Legacy, Gorgi Books, London: 1991, p. 177-178.)

As we stated before, the so-called split between science and religion was totally ideological. Some scientists, who earnestly believed in materialism, conditioned themselves to prove that the universe had no creator and they devised various theories in this context. The theory of evolution was the most famous and the most important of them. In the field of astronomy as well certain theories were developed such as the "steady-state theory" or the "chaos theory". However, all of these theories that denied creation were demolished by science itself, as we have clearly shown in the previous chapters.

Today, scientists who still keep to these theories and insist on denying all things religious, are dogmatic and bigoted people, who have conditioned themselves not to believe in God. The famous English zoologist and evolutionist D.M.S. Watson confesses to this dogmatism as he explains why he and his colleagues accept the theory of evolution:

If so, it will present a parallel to the theory of evolution itself, a theory universally accepted, not because it can be proved by logically coherent evidence to be true, but because the only alternative, special creation, is clearly incredible. (D.M.S. Watson, "Adaptation", Nature, no. 124, p. 233)

What Watson means by "special creation" is God's creation. As acknowledged, this scientist finds this "unacceptable". But why? Is it because science says so? Actually it does not. On the contrary, science proves the truth of creation. The only reason why Watson looks upon this fact as unacceptable is because he has conditioned himself to deny the existence of God. All other evolutionists take the same stand.

Evolutionists rely not on science but on materialist philosophy and they distort science to make it agree with this philosophy. A geneticist and an outspoken evolutionist from Harvard University, Richard Lewontin, confesses to this truth:

It is not that the methods and institutions of science somehow compel us to accept a material explanation of the phenomenal world, but, on the contrary, that we are forced by our a priori adherence to material causes to create an apparatus of investigation and a set of concepts that produce material explanations, no matter how counter-intuitive, no matter how mystifying to the uninitiated. Moreover, that materialism is absolute, so we cannot allow a Divine Foot in the door. (Richard Levontin, The Demon-Haunted World, The New York Review of Books, January, 9, 1997, p. 28)

On the other hand, today, just as in history, there are, as opposed to this dogmatic materialist group, scientists who confirm God's existence, and regard science as a way of knowing Him. Some trends developing in the USA such as "Creationism" or "Intelligent Design" prove by scientific evidence that all living things were created by God.

This shows us that science and religion are not conflicting sources of information, but that, on the contrary, science is a method that verifies the absolute truths provided by religion. The clash between religion and science can only hold true for certain religions that incorporate some superstitious elements as well as divine sources. However, this is certainly out of the question for Islam, which relies only on the pure revelation of God. Moreover, Islam particularly advocates scientific enquiry, and announces that probing the universe is a method to explore the creation of God. The following verse of the Qur'an addresses this issue;

Do they not look at the sky above them? How We have built it and adorned it, and there are no rifts therein? And the earth - We have spread it out, and set thereon mountains standing firm, and caused it to bring forth plants of beauteous kinds (in pairs). And We send down from the sky blessed water whereby We give growth unto gardens and the grain of crops. And tall palm-trees, with shoots of fruit-stalks, piled one over another. (Surah Qaf, 6-7, 9-10)

As the above verses imply, the Qur'an always urges people to think, to reason and to explore everything in the world in which they live. This is because science supports religion, saves the individual from ignorance, and causes him to think more consciously; it opens wide one's world of thought and helps one grasp the signs of God self-evident in the universe. Prominent German physicist Max Planck said:

"Anybody who has been seriously engaged in scientific work of any kind realizes that over the entrance to the gates of the temple of science are written the words: Ye must have faith. It is a quality which the scientist cannot dispense with."(J. De Vries, Essential of Physical Science, Wm.B.Eerdmans Pub.Co., Grand Rapids, SD 1958, p. 15.)

All the issues we have treated so far simply put it that the existence of the universe and all living things cannot be explained by coincidences.

Many scientists who have left their mark on the world of science have confirmed, and still confirm this great reality. The more people learn about the universe, the higher does their admirations for its flawless order become. Every newly-discovered detail supports creation in an unquestionable way.

The great majority of modern physicists accept the fact of creation as we set foot in the 21st century. David Darling also maintains that neither time, nor space, nor matter, nor energy, nor even a tiny spot or a cavity existed at the beginning. A slight quick movement and a modest quiver and fluctuation occurred. Darling ends by saying that when the cover of this cosmic box was opened, the tendrils of the miracle of creation appeared from beneath it.

Besides, it is already known that almost all the founders of diverse scientific branches believed in God and His divine books. The greatest physicists in history, Newton, Faraday, Kelvin and Maxwell are a few examples of such scientists.

In the time of Isaac Newton, the great physicist, scientists believed that the movements of the heavenly bodies and planets could be explained by different laws. Nevertheless, Newton believed that the creator of earth and space was the same, and therefore they had to be explained by the same laws. He said:

This most beautiful system of the sun, planets, and comets could only proceed from the counsel and dominion of an intelligent and powerful Being.This Being governs all things, not as the soul of the world, but as Lord over all, and on account of His dominion. He is wont to be called Lord God, Universal Ruler.

As is evident, thousands of scientists who have been doing research in the fields of physics, mathematics, and astronomy since the Middle Ages all agree on the idea that the universe is created by a single Creator and always focus on the same point. The founder of physical astronomy, Johannes Kepler, stated his strong belief in God in one of his books where he wrote:

Since we astronomers are priests of the highest God in regard to the book of nature, it befits us to be thoughtful, not of the glory of our minds, but rather, above all else, of the glory of God. (Dan Graves, Scientists of Faith, . 51)

The great physicist, William Thompson (Lord Kelvin), who established thermodynamics on a formal scientific basis, was also a Christian who believed in God. He had strongly opposed Darwin's theory of evolution and totally rejected it. In 1903, short before his death, he made the unequivocal statement that, "With regard to the origin of life, science... positively affirms creative power." (David Darling, Deep Time, Delacorte Press, 1989, New York.)

One of the professors of physics at Oxford University, Robert Mattheus states the same fact in his book published in 1992 where he explains that DNA molecules were created by God. Mattheus says that all these stages proceed in a perfect harmony from a single cell to a living baby, then to a little child, and finally to an adolescent. All these events can be explained only by a miracle, just as in all the other stages of biology.

Mattheus asks how such a perfect and complex organism can emerge from such a simple and tiny cell and how a glorious HUMAN is created from a cell even smaller than the dot on the letter i. He finally concludes that this is nothing short of a miracle. (Robert Matthews, Unravelling the Mind of God, London Bridge, July, 1995, p.8)

Michael Faraday (one of the greatest physicists of all times)

Gregory Mendel (the father of genetics; he invalidated Darwinism with his discoveries in the science of genetics)

Louis Pasteur (the greatest name in bacteriology; he declared war on Darwinism)

John Dalton (the father of atomic theory)

Blaise Pascal (one of the most important mathematicians)

John Ray (the most important name in British natural history)

Nicolaus Steno (a famous stratiographer who investigated earth layers)

Carolus Linnaeus (the father of biological classification)

Georges Cuvier (the founder of comparative anatomy)

Matthew Maury (the founder of oceanography)

Thomas Anderson (one the pioneers in the field of organic chemistry)

The ability to see the signs of God…

Say: "Praise be to God. He will show you His Signs and you will recognize them. Your Lord is not heedless of anything you do." (Surat an-Naml: 93)

In today's society, people assess the Qur'an very differently from what is the real purpose of its revelation. In the Islamic world, in general, very few people know the contents of the Qur'an.

Some Muslim people often hang the Qur'an on the walls of their houses within a decorative cover and elderly people read it from time to time.

They assume that the Qur'an protects those who read it from "misfortune and trouble". According to this superstition, they consider the Qur'an a sort of amulet against misfortunes.

The Qur'anic verses, however, inform us that the purpose of the Qur'an's revelation is entirely different from what is mentioned above. For instance, in the 52nd verse of Surah Ibrahim, God states: "This is a communication to be transmitted to mankind so that they can be warned by it and so that they will know that He is One God and so that people of intelligence will pay heed." In many other verses, God emphasizes that one of the most crucial purposes of the Qur'an's revelation is to invite people to ponder.

In the Qur'an, God invites people to reject blindly accepting the beliefs and values society imposes on them and to ponder by pushing aside all the prejudices, taboos and constraints on their minds.

Man must think on how he came into being, what is the purpose of his life, why he will die and what awaits him after death. He must question how he himself and the whole universe came into existence and how they continue to exist. While doing this, he must relieve himself of all constraints and prejudices.

By thinking, while isolating his conscience from all social, ideological and psychological obligations, the person should eventually perceive that the entire universe, including himself, is created by a superior power. Even when he examines his own body or any other thing in nature, he will see an impressive harmony, plan and wisdom at work within its design.

At this point again, the Qur'an guides man. In the Qur'an, God guides us as to what we should reflect on and investigate. With the methods of reflection given in the Qur'an, he who has faith in God will better perceive God's perfection, eternal wisdom, knowledge and power in His creation. When a believing person starts to think in the way shown in the Qur'an, he soon realizes that the whole universe is a sign of God's power and art, and that, "nature is a work of art, not the artist itself". Every work of art exhibits the exceptional skills of the one who has made it and conveys his messages.

In the Qur'an, people are summoned to contemplate numerous events and objects that clearly testify to the existence and uniqueness of God and His attributes. In the Qur'an, all these beings that bear witness are designated as "signs", meaning "tested evidence, absolute knowledge and expression of truth". Therefore, the signs of God comprise all the beings in the universe that disclose and communicate the being and attributes of God. Those who can observe and remember will see that the entire universe is only composed of the signs of God.

This, indeed, is the responsibility of mankind; to be able to see the signs of God... Thus, such a person will come to know the Creator who created him and all other things, draw closer to Him, discover the meaning of his existence and his life and so prosper.

Each thing, the breaths a human takes, political and social developments; the cosmic harmony in the universe, the atom, which is one of the smallest pieces of matter, is each a sign of God and they all operate under His control and knowledge, abiding by His laws. News from the world press: “Adnan Oktar has won his struggle against the theory of evolution”

From Italy to Indonesia, Britain to Saudi Arabia, the most prominent newspapers in the world spoke of the success of the anti-evolutionist works of Adnan Oktar (aka Harun Yahya) that he has been carried out in the intellectual sense for the last 30 years. All the news reports concluded that he has won this struggle.

The Daily Telegraph made the headlines, “Turkey to end the teaching of evolution theory in lower school.”

"Adnan Oktar, a prominent Turkish creationist, has led a crusade against the teaching of evolution, saying the theory is a European invention developed as a slight against Islam.”

The news also read; "The Koran, like the Bible, teaches that Adam and Eve were the first humans. God is said to have created Adam from Clay and then formed Eve, also known as Hawwa, from Adam.”

Pikaia, the prominent atheist and communist Internet website based in Italy, had the headline: “Turkey says goodbye to Darwin.” The news report outlines the anti-evolutionist developments which  Adnan Oktar has been instrumental since 2008 -for the last ten years- in Turkey: The ban on Richard Dawkin’s website, distribution of The Atlas of Creation across Europe, the anti-evolutionist conference held in Milano The news report also included  video of Alpaslan Durmuş, the head of curriculum for the Ministry of Education, in which he announced that Darwin’s theory would be removed from lower school programs.

Following the news coverage, Pikaia reported another news item titled "Turkey has excluded evolution from the curriculum."

The report states, "Harun Yahya will be most pleased about this news." It proceeds to mention that your efforts have made it possible for the book "Atlas of Creation" to be distributed to the half of the world, and for the theory of evolution to be excluded from the curriculum. It also mentions that your efforts lead to various pro-evolutionary scientific websites, Richard Dawkins in particular, to be shut down in Turkey.

Skalanews’ [Indonesia] story about the removal of the theory of evolution from the curriculum in Turkey is as follows:

"The Turkish scholar Harun Yahya’s struggle against the theory of evolution has brought results. The Turkish Ministry of Education will no longer include the theory of evolution in the school curriculum. The theory is excluded because it is not scientifically proven and it is against the teachings of Islam.”

In the Saudi Arabia version of Asharq Al Awsat, one of the three major newspapers of the Arabic world published in three continents, there was news report with the headline, “Harun Yahya has won his struggle against the theory of evolution”

The related news is as follows: “ The theory of evolution has been attacked by Adnan Oktar [aka Harun Yahya] who is known to be close to the AK Party and has strong power over the business world and many aspects of media. Adnan Oktar has his shows on A9 TV Channel, with ladies with revealing clothes and make up and a group of young people. Adnan Oktar lives in a luxurious villa and he has many houses and villas in the most prestigious locations of Istanbul.”

The story goes on:

"According to Oktar, Darwin tells a lie and there is not a process called the process of evolution. He says that he will award anyone who brings a proof validating the theory of evolution with three million dollars.

Adnan Oktar has great influence both on the Turkish society and abroad. He seems he has won his struggle by being instrumental in the official removal of the theory of evolution from the curriculum. He says his anti-evolution books such as “The Collapse of the theory of evolution in 20 questions” have been instrumental in this.”

The news article published in Haaretz, one of Israel's oldest daily newspapers whose editorials arguably have significant influence on government leaders,

titled "Compared to the US, creationists are leagues ahead in Turkish schools," writes thusly:

"In 2006, the book titled "Atlas of Creation" printed on prime quality paper came into many Turkish schools with the claim to refute the notion of evolution through natural selection. It bravely called attention to the fossil records to elucidate that creation is the work of God. Moreover, the book argued that evolution is also accountable for anti-Islamic and destructive doctrines such as Nazism and communism."

The article then notes:

"A few years later, Adnan Oktar, an ardent advocate of Islamic creationism and the author of Atlas of Creation writing under the pseudonym 'Harun Yahya', had the websites of well-known evolutionist, Richard Dawkins' being in particular, closed down on the grounds of blasphemous libel.”

The well-known scientific journal WIRED, in its Italian website,

reported a news article titled "What risks are we taking by following Turkey's suit in not teaching evolution?" and

wrote, "Turkey is trying to exclude the theory of evolution from high school programs. This is not the first attempt in disavowing Darwin," while addressing the impact of your books in this regard.

The article also noted, "In 2008, the evolutionist Richard Dawkins' website was closed down after Adnan Oktar, the author of "Atlas of Creation" also known as Harun Yahya, proclaimed that it was committing blasphemous libel. Subsequently, Darwin's picture, which had been planned to be used on the cover, was removed from the cover of a popular scientific magazine."

The Sargasso, a website based in Netherlands, had the following news:

"When the words ‘Turkey’ and ‘evolution’ are told, the name Adnan Oktar comes to one’s mind. Starting as of next year, pupils in high schools will no longer hear about the theory of evolution in Turkey. The name Adnan Oktar is the first word that comes to mind when the words Turkey and Creationism are uttered. In the West, Adnan Oktar is known as the author who, about ten years ago, sent a thick, pleasant anti-evolution book with the name “The Atlas of Creation” to thousands of politicians, schools and prominent names in Europe. Many American Creationists praised this book, stating that it is full of information. Adnan Oktar has a daily three-hours long live broadcast show on A9 TV Channel in which well-groomed ladies called “kittens”, setting a role model for Turkish women, participate. Will the well-groomed ladies of Mr. Oktar be a role model for modern Turkish women? This is highly probable.”

Another news report regarding the exclusion of Darwinism from Turkish schools has come from Norway today. The news titled "They are spreading their ideas in textbooks" featured in Dagsavisen, an Oslo-based Norwegian newspaper known for its affiliation with the Norwegian Workers Party, writes the following:

"The Turkish Muslim creationist known for his anti-Darwinist work gains increasingly wider ground among the immigrants in Europe.

Holding religious discussions on his own TV program, the extent of Adnan Oktar's popularity is not limited to Turkey. His ideas have passed way beyond national borders - Oktar's creationist ideas are particularly cherished by the Middle Eastern immigrants residing in Europe. 10 years ago, him sending out copies of his own work, a textbook titled 'Atlas of Creation', to schools in Europe sparked a debate. Hans Henrik Hjermitslev, a researcher in Southern Denmark University Department of Religion and Science, notes that Oktar still remains the stronghold of Muslim creationism and adds:

"His is a well-financed movement. His views find support among the young and educated people in Europe," says Hjermitslev, masha'Allah.

Another news found coverage on the website of a German radio station named Deutshcland Funk.

The news report, featuring a huge picture of the German edition of your book 'the Atlas of Creation, wrote:

"According to a research conducted by TU Dortmund, 15% of the students from Lehramt reject the theory of evolution.  They are opposed to the theory of evolution doctrine being taught in schools, just as the Muslim writer Adnan Oktar criticizes the theory of evolution in his book 'Atlas of Creation."

De Standaard, a Flemish Christian Democratic Party-affiliated Belgian daily newspaper reports:

"Harun Yahya's book, 'Atlas of Creation' achieved incredible success and brought about change worldwide. In Turkey, the theory of evolution has been excluded from the curriculum including high schools due to being too complicated for pupils. In Flanders, the Dutch speaking region of Belgium, there is a strong argument prevalent on Facebook that suggests mankind did not descend from apes."

The Dominion Post, based in Wellington, the capital of New Zealand, issued a news article titled "When evolutionary theory met radical Islam." The article wrote:

"According to surveys, Darwin's theory is widely embraced in Western countries while the majority in Turkey does not believe in evolution.

Anti-evolutionism takes bizarre forms in Turkey where televangelist Adnan Oktar nightly broadcasts Islamic creationism from his private TV channel." The article also notes, "The slick 61-year-old, designer clothing-suited Adnan Oktar attracts wealthy followers who regard him as the redeemer," and adds that you claim the ladies partaking in your TV program are pious university graduates who speak many languages.

The article remarks how you further spread your creationist message by bombarding schools and scientists round the world with more than 10,000 free copies of your 800-page glossy anti-Darwin book Atlas of Creation, and talks about how you daily discuss Darwin's negative impact on Islamic and moral values and the apparent fact that the Turkish government also shares your views.

Renowned preacher Harun Yahya who finds approval among francophone circles is undeniably one of the most potent symbols of this movement (Creationism).

In Catholic news site Medias Presse Info published in French;

In the news article titled "Darwin is fired from the schools in Turkey", it is mentioned that this attack against Darwin is nothing new, and Adnan Oktar (Harun Yahya) published the Atlas of Creation in 2006 and the book sold 1.5 million copies. It is also mentioned that Turkey is the only country in the world where rejection of Darwinism is more common than the acceptance of it.

Le Courrier, a Switzerland-based website, criticized the removal of the theory of evolution from the curriculum in Turkey. The news article published under the title "Science in Danger" states that evolutionary biology is not given kind reception in Turkey and that the Islamic Creationist views of the author Harun Yahya (aka Adnan Oktar) are favored.

In the website of the French radio channel RFI, broadcasting in 13 languages, a news article is published with the following title "Turkey: the theory of Darwin is no longer welcome in schools."

"Under the pen name Harun Yahya, Adnan Oktar made history with his book Atlas of Creation, which included rich visuals and was distributed in France and Switzerland. In this book, we see examples proving the invalidity of hundreds of page of evolution such as how a 200-million-year-old fern fossil shows that the plant has not undergone any changes."

In the most visited Spanish-language Israeli newspaper Aurora, a news article was published titled "Turkey has removed the theory of evolution from the curriculum." The article included the following statement:

"In 2006, with its first grade page quality, the book Atlas of Creation entered many Turkish schools with the intention of refuting the idea of ​​evolution through natural selection. It boldly pointed to the fossil records to explain that Creation is the work of God. The book also claimed that evolution was responsible for destructive and anti-Islamic doctrines, such as Nazism and communism.

A news article titled "The Approach of the Turkish Scientific Group to the Darwinism; 'both sides should be explained'" was published in the internet site Uncommon Descent of the Intelligent Designers, who believes that the materialist ideology is an obstacle in the way of the correct examination of biology and science.

Mrs. Denyse O'Leary, who published the article, says for Harun Yahya's book "Evolution Deceit" that, "it's the most concise work I've ever read that destroys Darwin's theory of evolution." In her column, she included Technical Science Research Foundation's press release about the removal of theory of evolution from the curriculum in Turkey.

In the article titled "International Creationism" published in the well-known French magazine L'Express;

The author, Christian Makarian, talks about global creationist movements while devoting half of his article to the worldwide influence Mr. Adnan Oktar had on this issue.

"In this regard, the most ardent actor of this movement in Turkey is Harun Yahya, in other words, Adnan Oktar. He maintains a fierce fight against Darwinism. All the think tanks, internet sites, and all media organizations (including our editorial department of L'Express) are virtually covered with richly illustrated books and propaganda articles. "

In the Huffington Post, one of America's most well-known liberal news sites, an article was published by Erkan Saka, an Assistant Professor from Bilgi University, on the issue of the removal of theory of evolution from the curriculum in Turkey.

In his article, Saka claimed that evolution in Turkish schools was taught only as a theory and that it was not focused on too much, he continued: "Popular and unusual Islamic groups, such as Adnan Oktar, are engaged in anti-evolution activities using Western creationist literature. People like Oktar can easily organize exhibitions in public spaces that deny evolution."

In the famous Knack magazine published in Belgium since 1971;

...In 2007, the Turkish creationist (Harun Yahya) sent the luxury-printed Atlas of Creation, in which he refuted the evolution with scientific evidence, to thousands of universities in Western Europe free of charge. Yahya is the pen name of Adnan Oktar, an interior designer from Istanbul. Yahya is the leader of a think-tank that advocates creation and is making world-wide advances to explain that Islam does not contradict with science. These advances came to fruition in his own country. On June 23rd, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan signed a law that would remove evolution from middle schools on the grounds that "it is difficult and complicated to understand". In 2019, Darwin will disappear from the textbooks at middle schools.

Infobae, one of the biggest internet newspapers of Argentina with monthly visitor traffic of 27 million:

... "Some societies have been gripped by the "fear of evolution theory" through the impact of commentators on the subject such as Harun Yahya. Richard Dawkins noted that fanatical Muslims are spreading creationism across Europe, while the geneticist Steve Jones stated that Muslim students boycott the classes where the theory of evolution is taught."

"A few years ago, a perfect Atlas was published, featuring the past forms, that is, the fossils of animals and the examples of their living counterparts. The newspaper remarks that Adnan Oktar's Atlas of Creation, consisting of 800 pages and sold 8 million in 1 year, is quite intriguing.

"Adnan Oktar's 'Atlas of Creation' has made a reputation worldwide. Translated into countless languages and featuring a rich variety of pictures, the book employs the arguments used by the evangelist circles and includes verses from the Qur'an instead of the Bible."

The newspaper writes about Adnan Oktar's 30 years of scientific struggle against the theory of evolution and how it is the root of all evil from Nazism to fascism and terrorism.

Aura Avis Newspaper published in Nordmor, Norway:

Quoting from Adnan Oktar's book 'A Historical Lie: the Stone Age', the newspaper writes about how the evolutionists have been deceiving people for over 150 years through false evidence.

"The Turkish preacher Adnan Oktar, also known under his pen name Harun Yahya, has made a tremendous impact on the subject of evolution. He became quite popular with his book 'Atlas of Creation' embellished with a rich variety of pictures that was distributed in France and Switzerland in 2007. The book features a few hundred pages of basic information to prove the fallacy of evolution; for example, pictures of 200-million-year-old fern fossil are presented in the book as evidence to how ferns did not undergo any evolution."

BBC News and Darwinism's biggest conundrum: How did life begin?

On October 31, 2016, an article was published in the evolutionist web site BBC News claiming that "we are now closer to finding out the secret for the origin of life." The goal was to be able to give the impression that Darwinism could give a Darwinist explanation to the question on "the origin of life", the greatest conundrum of Darwinism throughout history. Darwinists had attempted a "rescue operation" after this definite defeat.

Even at the beginning of the article it was clearly stated that this text was prepared as an ideological objection to the truth of creation.

"How did life begin? For much of human history, almost everyone believed some version of "the [false] gods did it". Any other explanation was inconceivable. That is no longer true. Over the last century, a few scientists have tried to figure out how the first life might have sprung up.  They have even tried to recreate this Genesis moment in their labs: to create brand-new life from scratch. So far nobody has managed it, but we have come a long way. Today, many of the scientists studying the origin of life are confident that they are on the right track – and they have the experiments to back up their confidence."

As it can be seen, the Darwinists have confessed that there is still no evidence in their hands, but they are trying to manipulate public perception by utilizing the idea that they "have come a long way". As it is known, believing in an unproven argument is an ideological approach, not a scientific one. The author of the article, Marshall, created the impression that he will explain a secret to his readers by using the title "The Secret of How Life on Earth Began". On the one hand, he mentions various scientific claims, and on the other hand, he attempts to give an objective approach by touching upon why these claims could not have happened in the evolutionary sense. However, at the end of the article, he reached the conclusion that "we are closer now to understand the beginning of life in an evolutionary sense" which is based on the false evidence he put forward previously. However, there is no proven foundation to this so-called evidence, which is nothing more than stories. The only thing the article has done is putting forward claims in the form of "this or that might have happened" based on assumptions, some of which are completely imaginary and some others are just not suitable for the conditions of those days.

If we were to address the scientific invalidity of the claims:

Abiogenesis:  A scenario without evidence

Explaining how life began is one of the darkest aspects of the scenario of evolution. Evolutionists have no explanation on the subject of abiogenesis, which is the formation of living things from inanimate matter. In the so-called evolutionary trees, the pre-initial cell period is depicted as a black nebula, thus acknowledging the fact that there is no information regarding that period. In order to avoid such questions, some explanations have been formulated such as, "Evolution deals with the stages of diversification of species after the first cell formation; this first cell issue is the subject of abiogenesis, not evolution ". The fact that the evolutionist Richard Dawkins, in one of his confession- like statements, said the life could have begun with a "self-replicating imaginary molecule" that came from an outside world, serves as the acknowledgment of the impossibility of life emerging on earth just by coincidence.[i] Four years ago, Dawkins launched a contest with two million-pounds prize money on the website owned by his foundation on "generating theories on the origin of life". Launching a research competition like that is the proof that the theory for the beginning of life, which forms the basis of the theory of evolution, has not yet been established, let alone there being any explanations for it.

Let's evaluate a number of claims that have been mentioned on the BBC News web site one by one.

The fallacy of denying the soul in so-called scientific terms

According to the author, the existence of the soul was denied with a complete materialist approach. The fact that some molecules that constitute living cells became obtainable in the laboratory environment starting from the beginning of the 19th Century is shown as an evidence for this. It was also claimed that obtaining urea from ammonium cyanate was the beginning of this process.

It was then claimed that, in 1859 Darwin proved that the extraordinary diversity of life came from a common ancestry in his book The Origin of Species, thus scientifically debunking the concept of soul.

The simplicity of the so-called evidence that a person, who is aware of the scientific discoveries of today, presents for denial of the existence of the soul is unconceivable. A primitive logic such as "the theory of evolution has been put forward thus the question regarding the existence of soul is no longer valid" is not an evidence, but rather a rotten claim. First of all, the theory of evolution is a theory that has collapsed in every aspect. It explains neither the existence of biological life nor the Darwinists' greatest conundrum, the existence of the soul. It is in fact impossible for the theory of evolution to give an explanation for the soul. If we go back to that claim, all the materials that make up our physical body are naturally derived from inorganic substances, the  atoms. Obtaining urea from ammonium cyanate is just a simple chemical discovery. There is no need for an organic structure for the formation of this substance. Proteins, sugars, fat and nucleic acid molecules that constitute the basis of organic structures need living cells. They cannot be produced outside of the cells, in a deliberate laboratory environment. Even if we assume that these can be produced under laboratory conditions, it is not a proof that can debunk the existence of the soul. Each organelle of the cell, each protein, acts with complete consciousness. There are many examples we can present for this. Yet, the source of this consciousness cannot be explained without a metaphysical power. Therefore, it is not possible to explain life only by means of matter.

If Darwinists are to deal with the subject of the existence of soul, they have to explain the existence of the entity who perceives electrical signals as a colorful world, and which can see without eyes, and can hear without ears. As long as they keep ignoring this subject, they must accept that they are helpless against the existence of soul.

The ideological perspectives of the so-called evolutionist scientists who are involved in the issue are also quite interesting. The author explains this himself, and clearly states that all those people who try to explain the origin of life through an evolutionist reasoning such as Alexander Oparin, J.B.S. Haldane embrace atheistic and communist ideologies. According to Armen Mulkidjanian from the University of Osnabrück in Germany, "In the Soviet Union these opinions were accepted happily because they didn't need God [may God forbid the thought]. In the western world, if you look for people who were thinking in this direction, they all were lefties, communists and so on."

The Darwinists' quandary in explaining how life began

The first attempt to prove the theories regarding the beginning of life through experiments, which started with Darwin and continued with Haldane, is the well known Miller-Urey experiments. Miller joined together the four chemicals that he predicted would be present at the beginning of the world in glass test tubes. The tubes contained boiling water, hydrogen gas, ammonia and methane. He obtained glycine and alanine amino acids by applying the cold trap method. Despite the fact that what he obtained was nothing more than two molecules of inanimate matter, this menial experiment has been used by evolutionists as a method of explaining the origin of life for many years. However, it was later understood that the so-called primitive atmosphere he formed was faulty. Even though there were a few attempts that followed this, nobody attempted to prove the origin of life with such methods after that. After many scientific discoveries, life turned out to be much more complex than it was initially assumed to be.  Living things weren't just chemical carrying bags; every cell was as complex as a city.  For this reason, it was impossible to even imagine the idea of ​​re-building them from scratch.

It is highly unreasonable to claim that life originated under destructive natural conditions while not even a single protein may be obtained under controlled conditions with today’s technology in a laboratory setting. The reason why the Miller experiment is adopted by others is not because the experiment yielded results, but because there hasn't been any other attempt at all.

Primitive cells don't exist

In the so-called theory of evolution, which had to explain the emergence of life through chance events, the origin of the first cell is still a conundrum. According to the fossil evidence, the first cell emerged in complete form on every aspect 3.8 billion years ago and this directly points to Creation. For that reason, evolutionists create scenarios that attempt at debunking this clear scientific truth. According to these scenarios, long before the formation of this complete cell, there must have been so-called organic molecules and cells, which should be considered as "primitive". But this so-called primitive ancestor has never been found. Moreover, evolutionists do not have a consensus on how this process works and they are never able to do so. Since, each hypothesis that they introduce would require the living cell to be fully and completely alive at that instance but Darwinists continue to hold onto their ideological notions, hoping that one day someone will come and give an evolutionary explanation to the origin of the first cell.

A cell has certain features that it must possess in order to sustain its life. When one of these features is missing, the presence of other features becomes meaningless; because in such a case death becomes inevitable for the cell. The qualities of the cell, which we will talk about only roughly here, have hundreds of specifications hidden in their details. It is impossible for only one of these details to be missing in the cell’s composition. The genetic diseases we often encounter today are caused by the disorders in such minor details and their consequences are serious illnesses and even death. For this reason, the first cell should have originated in complete form.

The essential features that a cell must have are:

1. A cell membrane that separates the cell from the outside environment

2. A system to provide energy necessary for the continuation of cellular activities

3. Genetic material that will store the information of the cell and transmit it to future generations

Apart from these generalized three essential features, the cell also has many vital functions such as digestion, excretion, cell skeleton, transport systems, etc. Let's examine each one of these three essential qualities.

A cell membrane cannot be formed on its own

When examined from the outside, the most vital formation that defines a cell structurally is the cell membrane. The cell membrane is vital for keeping the building blocks of the cell together in the cell. Being aware of this fact, evolutionists say that a membrane of lipid molecules is required for the cell but they overlook the fact that lipids are also organic molecules. Each of the lipid molecules in the structure of the cell membrane is formed as the consequence of a quite complex system, which itself is a result of multi-phased reactions. Therefore, the formation of the cell membrane needs lipids that are already available. Thus, another intact cell is needed to provide for these lipid molecules.

The lipid structure of the cell membrane only permits free passage of small molecules that dissolve in fat. However, it doesn't permit the passage of water, water-soluble substances, and big molecules. Cell membrane must contain protein gates and channels that provide controlled movement of these molecules in and out of the cell. Protein, on the other hand, has to be synthesized with the help of hundreds of proteins from the structure of the DNA and RNA, and has to be transported to the cell membrane. Therefore, again a fully functional cell is required.

Sustaining vital functions requires energy

Almost no mechanism in a cell can operate without energy. As soon as any system such as the cell's membrane transport system, protein production, division, etc., is left without energy, the system stops. This means death. Therefore, the existence of an energy generating system in the first cell is inevitable. Photosynthesis is the primary mechanism by which energy can be stored and used. Glucose is obtained by utilizing solar energy. Glucose is then converted to ATP by glycolysis. Photosynthesis is carried out by means of at least forty separate reactions and glycolysis by ten. When we consider that each of these steps is catalyzed by separate enzymes, it becomes clear that we are faced with a highly complex structure. Such a system must definitely be present in the "first cell".  The "first cell" which has such a complex structure is certainly not "primitive". It is already known that even the oldest fossilized cells (the 3.8 million years old cyanobacteria) were carrying out photosynthesis.

RNA cannot exist prior to the cell

The process by which DNA is used to produce proteins is extremely complex. This constitutes a big problem for anyone who wants to explain the origin of life through evolution because it is impossible to even imagine how such a complex structure could have originated. Any explanation for the origin of life must thus explain how a structure consisting of organelles such as the DNA, RNA, and ribosome existed and started operating.

For this reason, in order to simplify the process, British chemist Leslie Orgel argued that there weren't any DNA or proteins at first, but only RNA molecules. This molecule, like the DNA, must have replicated itself and displayed enzymatic activity by folding like a protein. Despite his wide provocations on the subject, he had no evidence that could establish the basis of his claim. His allegation being completely a philosophical idea, it nevertheless claimed the attention of evolutionist circles, which had no legs to stand on. However, even if we were to assume that a single RNA molecule had come into existence on its own, how would an RNA molecule with no other organelles, or rather no cell, could function and remain alive?

There is one more thing to remember here. The structure what we call as RNA, in other words the ribonucleic acid, contains a nucleic acid base in the form of a sugar with five carbons, purine or pyrimidine called ribose. The RNA-based scenario collapses completely when we consider that these three organic structures have to be produced in the cell.

Moreover, no RNA that replicates itself has been found in living cells. In other words this claim is purely a product of fiction. The structures that make up the RNA, like proteins, cannot come together and merge in water-containing environments, or be formed without ribosomes and enzymatic factors. John Sutherland, who is known for his work on molecular biology, explains this in the following way:

There were certain key aspects of RNA chemistry that didn't work. Each RNA nucleotide is made of a sugar, a base and a phosphate. But it had proved impossible to persuade the sugar and base to join up.

This situation is explained in the well-known biology textbook Alberts in the following way:

Although self-replicating systems of RNA molecules have not been found in nature, scientists are confident that they can be constructed in the laboratory.[ii]

For evolutionists, fictionalizing without genetic material would be extremely meaningless. The genetic material contains information about the cell. Without the DNA, the information regarding other structures of the cell cannot be stored and a real cell division does not occur. The presence of genetic material also requires many different systems to coexist at the same time as we have explained above. This cannot happen without an instantaneous Creation. Indeed, in this article, evolutionists have confessed why their claims are simply not feasible. The necessity of the existence of genetic material is emphasized as follows:

A cell, which has a cell wall but not a gene, will not do much. Although it can be divided into daughter cells, it will not be able to pass on any information to its offspring.

Life originated instantaneously

As we can see, evolutionists, who could not find any proof for the so-called theory of evolution, have failed in their efforts to fabricate evidence even on a theoretical level. The first cell appears suddenly 3.8 billion years ago in fossil records. It has emerged with all the features we find in today's cells and has continued its existence without undergoing any changes. And prior to that, there is no indication of the existence of life among the layers of the earth. There are no semi-developed cellular remains in geological layers that supposedly attempted to evolve. As explained in detail above, a living being cannot be expected to live without the existence of a fully functioning cell. A gradually improving cell model is impossible.

Since natural selection, which is allegedly based on chance, does not have the capacity to innovate new information, it can never be the explanation for the formation of structures containing information such as proteins and genes: Thus, what is left is only the claim of coincidence. However, the claim of coincidence is the most irrational, absurd and incompetent attempt that has been raised throughout human history.

The main issue that needs to be explained is where the information required to develop the highly complex mechanism of life comes from. Even if your toolbox contains atoms, natural laws and coincidences just as the evolutionists claim, how did life come into existence? How did this complex and well-ordered information come about? That question remains unanswered for Darwinists; and so long as they try to find an answer to this question through evolution, it will continue to remain so.

The ideas put forward by BBC News are no more than the myths of modern irreligious cultures.  It is clear that the aforementioned article is nothing but a poor effort that Darwinists have embarked on in order to avert the great defeat they have experienced.

Science Has Once Again Declared: ‘We Were Created’

All those who are true friends of God, who are loyal to Him by heart and who rejoice by striving on His path, are the bright faces of this world. Regardless of their beliefs, religions and ethnicities, the friends of God are the force that keeps the world standing. If it were not for the existence of people who have a respectful fear of God, submit to His will and love Him more than anything, the world would be plunged into darkness. The earth would be left without love, friendship, mercy and compassion. The woe, pessimism and the oppression encouraging aspects of disbelief would lay waste to all mankind.

For these reasons, people who love God and who don't want the world to face such darkness came together on April 28, 2018 at the Istanbul Fairmont Quasar Hotel for the Third International Conference on the Origin of Life and the Universe. Scientists and theologians from the USA, Italy, Austria and Germany contributed to a historical meeting. Co-hosted by The Technics and Science Research Foundation, The Foundation for the Preservation of National Values and The Foundation of National Values, the speakers once again announced to the whole world that science shows universe and life were created out of nothingness and proved that there was no further tolerance for Darwinist dictatorship. During the conference, which had two coffee and one lunch break, eight esteemed speakers offered breathtaking details about God's beautiful creation of the universe and life. In between the sessions, Istanbul Dance Factory displayed an amazing dance performance, and famous percussionist Onur Seçki stunned the attendants with his spectacular show. The Third  International Conference on the Origin of Life and the Universe was a success not only with the topics it dealt with or in its impeccable organization, but also with an elite lineup of speakers and its modern and sophisticated attendants. The flawless organization, which saw close to 500 guests, was praised by guests from the scientific, political and artistic communities.

Esteemed scientists who spoke during the conference touched on many crucial points. While Dr. Bijan Nemati explained why Earth has a very special and privileged place in the universe, Professor Ken Keathley mentioned the seven days of creation as explained in the Bible and explained why the new 'Young Earth' movement is wrong. Dr. Fazale Rana showed how the human genome is a very intricate, elaborate creation, while Ms. Anna Manja Larcher demonstrated that love and compassion cannot be accounted for by evolutionary ideas. Professor David Snoke showed that those who use the phrase 'Intelligent Design' to avoid using the name 'creation' were conflicted and sociologist Fabrizio Fratus made it clear that evolution was not science but a mere ideology. Dr. Oktar Babuna explained that the Qur'an pointed to creation and not evolution and Professor Hans Koechler analyzed monotheism and the meaning of co-existence.

Needless to say, there is a crucial reason why such an elite and large international gathering was organized.

The world today is faced with an unprecedented bloodshed. People live in fear and apprehension. While many countries have remained untouched by war,  they too are wrestling against the plague of terrorism. The world has been effectively deprived of happiness, joy, cheerfulness and tranquility. People lead tense, stressful and anxious lives.

But they do not know what to do or how to put an end to the current state of affairs. They feel helpless against the power that incites wars, that somehow orchestrates and propagates evil. They are waiting for a helping hand to reach them.

At this point, we, the friends of God, are obliged to step into action and fulfill our responsibility. We have to be a strong wind that will sweep through the dark clouds spawned by disbelief looming over the world and usher in the bright, luminous, warm and peaceful days.

For that reason, the people who hold this heart, came together for the Third International Conference on the Origin of Life and the Universe and foiled the sinister plot of the materialist dictatorship around the world. This was a crucial response to those who sought violence, discord and division; it was shown that Darwinism was the source of the evil.

However, this is not the only reason why the conference was a great achievement.

The Third International Conference on the Origin of Life and the Universe brought together  Mormons, Muslims, Catholics, Evangelists Presbyterians, and welcomed diverse nationalities and religions under a single roof. A common language was used to declare Almighty God as the Creator of all universes from nothing. The beauty in unity, friendship and solidarity was shown to the whole world.

There is no doubt that no matter how great the plot of the evil, the alliance of the good, the right will always be triumphant. It is impossible to live with hatred while love and sincerity are very easy to achieve. It is for this reason crucial to show these facts to the world through such events. Love is the most amazing value in the world and it should be shown that love can be honestly and sincerely experienced without any ill-intentions or ulterior motives. This event was one of those rare incidents where this love and spirit of solidarity were displayed.

The International Conference on Origin of Life and the Universe, which has been an annual event for the past three years, once again proved to be a spectacular event to usher in love and solidarity to the world. This beautiful effort will continue and gather strength every year.

The world, now a scene of constant aggression, anger, fear and death, urgently needs love, solidarity and a beautiful future. Societies who were made to believe that everything is a product of coincidences, should be saved from this deception. People who fell into a the cycle of desperation due to the deception of coincidental formation, will now discover the beauty of seeing God's existence and relying on Him. Showing this fact to the world using science and with the warmth and modernism of religion will help open up a whole new leaf of beauty for our world.

Evolution fails to deny Creator

In his article in 2016, Harvard biologist Jack Szostak, a Nobel Prize winner, claimed that he had discovered a method that allows ribonucleic acid (RNA) to self-replicate.

This claim has been introduced as an answer to a very important question about the origin of life. However, only after a year, he was forced to retract his essay.

Szostak’s lab at Harvard University has been hard at work trying to find an answer to the origin of life for many years.

Of course, this research is not objective or unbiased; their efforts are based on the assumption that life emerged through coincidences on its own, that is, by so-called evolutionary mechanisms.

Szostak’s lab was particularly interested in how RNA could replicate itself without enzymes. In the article that Szostak had to retract, he claimed that RNA could self-replicate without enzymes.

It is noteworthy to briefly explain why Szostak and many other scientists are desperately searching for the supposedly “self-replicating” RNA.

Evolutionists find themselves in a conundrum when they try to explain how the DNA molecule that contains the information of the proteins came into being in the first place.

Having failed to explain the complexity of DNA through coincidences, evolutionists sought new ways to explain it in the 1980s. Harvard chemist Walter Gilbert developed a scenario in 1986, claiming that billions of years ago, a self-replicating RNA molecule was somehow formed by itself.

He then claimed that this RNA molecule suddenly started to produce proteins with the help of environmental conditions. After that, he claimed, a need to keep this information on a second molecule arose, but he claimed the DNA molecule, nevertheless, managed to “form on its own”.

Like many evolutionists, Szostak believes that RNA was the first organic molecule to come into being. However, evolutionists need to show how RNA can replicate itself without other enzymes and proteins.

This is what Szostak’s lab was working on. They thought that if such a mechanism was found, the RNA’s ability to self-replicate would be confirmed, and that RNA could have formed through so-called evolution before DNA or proteins existed, which they hoped would provide a foundation for the evolutionist claims to the origin of life.

However, they never achieved this goal because neither RNA nor any part of the cell were products of coincidence.

The article that was published in Nature Chemistry in 2016 as a “discovery” that supported the theory of evolution, and that prompted Nobel prize winner Szostak, was about this “finding”.

However, post-doctoral researcher Tivoli Olsen from Szostak’s laboratory could not obtain the same results despite repeating the same experiments.

Not only was he unable to obtain the same results, Tivoli also saw that the previous results of the experiment had been misinterpreted.

Consequently, Szostak’s article was retracted. Szostak confessed that this “debacle” was “absolutely embarrassing” and continued:

“In retrospect, we were totally blinded by our belief (in our findings) — we were not as careful or rigorous as we should have been (and as Tivoli was) in interpreting these experiments.”

In fact, Szotsak’s sincere confession is quite significant.

The theory of evolution, which is not based on evidence, has been advocated for materialistic purposes because it was considered as the only way to deny the existence of a Creator.

Every scientific finding, from the moment they are discovered, has always been interpreted based on the theory of evolution by these people. As seen in Szotsak’s confession, their belief in evolution mars the objectivity of many scientists, causing them to misinterpret findings.

What is even more interesting is that how Szotsak’s words, which were aimed at those who believe in creation, actually described his own situation.

He said: “I think that belief systems based on faith are inherently dangerous, as they leave the believer susceptible to manipulation when scepticism and inquiries are discouraged.”

As can be seen, Szotsak’s words, in fact, quite accurately described people who blindly believe in the theory of evolution, even though there is no evidence to support it.

The theory of evolution is a non-scientific belief. Materialists and evolutionists have firmly embraced the theory of evolution to avoid acknowledging the fact that the universe and life are the products of a Creator.

In fact, since the 19th century, science has been stalled by evolutionist and materialist perspective, and a great amount of time, energy and material resources are being wasted in this regard. Every piece of evidence, from fossils to microscopic discoveries, are being assessed from an evolutionist and materialistic perspective.

The well-known confession of Richard Lewontin, a geneticist and evolutionist from Harvard University, clearly describes this fact: “We have ‘a priori’ commitment, a commitment to materialism. It is not that the methods and institutions of science somehow compel us to accept a material explanation of the phenomenal world. On the contrary, that we are forced by our ‘a priori’ adherence to material causes to create an apparatus of investigation and a set of concepts that produce material explanations Moreover, that materialism is absolute, for we cannot allow a Divine Foot in the door.”

The coexistence of the “necessary substances”, “necessary environmental conditions” and “necessary interventions” in necessary amounts and in the right time, in an idle, purposeless, aimless, uncontrolled environment, where no knowledge and intelligence exists as evolutionists claim, is indeed impossible.

Even for the formation of a single RNA molecule, an intelligent, knowing and powerful Creator must exist.

This is a very clear and definite truth, a truth demonstrated by science. Any effort to prove otherwise are condemned to be “retracted”.

An answer to the 'Alesi' Hoax put forward by evolutionist publications such as New Scientist and Nature

In August 2017, several international science and news organizations reported that the so-called "common ancestor" of humans and apes had been found. Many evolutionist publications in Turkey also jumped on the bandwagon without doing the necessary research on the issue.

Based on an article published in the well-known evolutionist journal Nature, the report claimed that the fossil discovered in Kenya, named ‘Alesi’ and allegedly 13 million years old, may be the so-called "primitive ancestor" of all humans and apes.

This fossil, unearthed out of the rock layers in the Napudet region in the northern part of Kenya, west of Lake Turkana, belongs to an extinct ape species estimated to have lived 13 million years ago. This fossilized skull of a 16 -month- old infant ape was well- preserved because it was buried under the ground by a volcanic eruption. The skull is small enough to fit easily in one hand and the structures inside it, even the well-preserved tiny ear canals, allow for a detailed examination. (1)

In fact, journals like New Scientist called this little skull "the most complete extinct ape skull in the fossil record so far", confirming that it belongs to an ape. (2) In fact, all the available information about the fossil consists of the following:

•         Small, gibbon-like nose

•         Gibbon-like teeth

•         Chimpanzee-like ear tubes

•         Skull as big as a lemon

When we look carefully at the contents of the news pieces concerning this fossil, we immediately realize that there is no concrete finding that would suggest it belongs to "one of the oldest common ancestors of humans and apes."

Darwinists' obsession with evolution

As can be seen, this fossil is insistently presented as a new discovery that reveals the so-called evolutionary link between humans and apes, despite the fact that it clearly belongs to an ape. The facts are being distorted for ideological concerns and the skull has been introduced as "the oldest ancestor of humans" to be used as propaganda material.

Darwinists' way of conducting science works like this: The Darwinist scientist also initially observes the scientific findings on fossils or current living organisms but since he believes in evolution with all his heart, he produces a completely different story to adapt the truth to his Darwinist belief. However, the scientific method obligates him to present the true findings clearly, without distorting it with an ideological view. Scientific findings, conclusions and interpretations must be "testable". This method applies to all hard sciences; but it is different when it comes to Darwinist scientists.

No journal that calls itself scientific asks Darwinists what grounds or what scientific data they base their unscientific comments on because these journals' publishers and editors are Darwinists, too. They use science as propaganda material for evolution. The Darwinist  believes first in evolution, then practices science. The superstitious belief of evolution invalidates the scientific neutrality of these people and as a result, their interpretations end up being biased. So much so that, if there is any evidence against evolution, they try to make it fit or explain it away within the framework of evolution. Even though every new fossil unearthed proves God's creation of living things and invalidates the idea of ​​evolution, no Darwinist accepts it; indeed, they do not want to accept it.

The Alesi Hoax

Alesi is a fossil of a complete skull and it belongs to an extinct ape species. It doesn't demonstrate a single feature that can be interpreted as an evidence for a "common ancestor" by Darwinists. Despite this, what caused the evolutionists to write a fallacious story about a common ancestor?

Having found no evidence in the fossil records, evolutionists moved their so-called theory to the digital environment and produced genetic similarity percentages between each living organism. The claim that chimpanzee and human genes show 95-98% similarity is based on such calculations. Again, through some formulae programmed on a computer, they have invented a mutation speed presumed to be valid throughout history. In this way, they calculate the amount of years that must have passed since the so-called common ancestor for the calculated difference to occur between chimpanzee and human. The claim that this imaginary ancestor must have lived six million years ago was again processed with the help of a computer, and although not scientifically valid, this prediction has been published in Darwinist journals. In fact, what is being done here is the embodiment of Darwinist belief in evolution through statistical programs. But there are no fossil findings that prove these calculations reflect the truth.

Since Alesi is observed to be about 13 million years old, it is much older than the so-called common ancestor, the age of which was initially calculated in a computer to be six million years. Alesi, therefore, must be a common ancestor too, since, following the same logic, it is older than the so-called common ancestor. So is there any evidence found on the fossil of Alesi that suggests it to be a common ancestor? Certainly not. In fact, as the authors have already stated, the examination of the fossil's cranial features revealed that it is very similar to the ape species living today. The existence of similar features is not evidence for evolution but for a stasis in fossil records, which points to Creation.

Isaiah Nengo, one of the authors of the article, says, "If you compare Alesi to all living things, it looks most like a gibbon." (3)

It is obvious that there is an  ideological bias behind the claim that Alesi is a common ancestor even though scientists agree it bears similarities to a gibbon. If a fossil looks like a gibbon, then it can only be an ancestor of gibbons. We can conclude from this that, it makes no difference for Darwinists what the Alesi fossil looks like or which species it belongs to. Whether the unearthed fossil looks like a gorilla or an orangutan, the ideologically motivated logic of the evolutionists  would never see the truth and invariably come up with claims of a common ancestor.

CONCLUSION

As we can see, the fossil of Alesi certainly belongs to an ape based on its anatomical features and it bears no similarities to humans. To date, countless ape fossils have been found and most of them belong to various extinct species of apes. There is no finding in any discovered fossil that identifies it as an "intermediate form between human and ape species or as a common ancestor". All the ape fossils unearthed to date reveals only one fact: Apes were created with all their perfect features instantaneously, and they haven't undergone any changes in the course of millions of years; that is to say, they have never evolved.

More People Question Darwinism Worldwide

From the day it was brought forward by Darwin, the theory of evolution has remained perhaps the most hotly debated topic in the world. In fact, this debate goes on across the world not only in the field of biology, but on philosophical, political, sociological and even artistic platforms as well. Never before has a "factual" scientific theory been a matter of such controversy and polemic in so many fields related and unrelated, direct and indirect.

As it is known, the emergence of new supporting evidence in time renders a theory stronger and helps it gain recognition. When refuting evidence surfaces, on the other hand, the theory in question is abandoned and classified as "invalid and insubstantial."

However, this standard procedure has never been employed for Darwinism, a compilation of fallacies that lack scientific evidence and are based on illogical postulates, for Darwinism has always been favored and defended at all costs by academic, ideological and political circles, where an atheistic-materialistic world view reigns supreme. Those who rejected the theory were declared anti-scientific, ignorant, fanatical and outdated, because keeping the theory of evolution alive was a factor vital for the survival of the atheistic-materialistic worldview.

Yet, since its introduction by Darwin, the theory of evolution has been refuted by all related fields of science:

— The branches of science such as biomathematics and statistics proved the improbability of even the smallest protein molecule comprising a cell, the building block of life, forming "by itself" under natural conditions.

— Paleontology brought to light more than 700 million ancient fossils, many of them tens of millions of years old, revealing that at no point of history did life forms evolve. The entire fossil record unearthed so far shows that since their first appearance on earth to date, life forms did not undergo any evolutionary processes.

— The imaginary transitional forms - interconnecting species claimed to have existed by evolutionists - have yet to turn up in any fossil record. On top of that, all of the life forms that have been presented as transitional forms to keep the theory alive have since been proven to be perfect living beings with complex anatomies and systems that have existed at certain points in history before going extinct. As a matter of fact, Darwin himself admitted this predicament that renders his theory utterly invalid in his book as follows:

Why, if species have descended from other species by insensibly fine gradations, do we not everywhere see innumerable transitional forms?… Innumerable transitional forms must have existed, why do we not find them embedded in countless numbers in the crust of the earth?... Why then is not every geological formation and every stratum full of such intermediate links?... and this, perhaps, is the most obvious and gravest objection which can be urged against my theory." (Charles Darwin, The Origin of Species, p. 172, 280)

— On the other hand, observations not only revealed that mutations, which are claimed to be one of the two so-called driving mechanisms behind the evolution, are completely incapable of transforming and improving species, but that the only clear impact they have on organisms is simply to bring about permanent damage and devastation. The definition of the laws of inheritance resulted in the revelation that it is scientifically impossible for natural selection, the second so-called evolutionary mechanism, to bring about new species.

In short, when normal scientific standards are followed, Darwinism is nothing but a fallacy that should have been discarded decades ago, as a requisite of rationality, logic and common sense. In other words, Darwinism is the greatest and most organized scientific hoax in the history of science.

But this truth is covered up by the ideological powers behind the scenes. In an attempt to keep the atheistic-materialistic philosophy alive, they resort to unimaginable methods to conceal the debacles of Darwinism and to give it a scientific veneer. Yet this entity, too, is getting weaker with each passing day -due in no small part to the confessions Darwinists have had to make themselves.

Particularly, the scientific activities we have carried out since the early 2000’s to the present day that unmask and lay bare the scientific predicaments of the theory of evolution have proved most effective in this regard. The information showing the invalidity of Darwinism that originated from Turkey - and spread throughout the world - has helped humanity wake up from this mass hypnosis. During these years, hundreds of books have been written and translated into numerous languages, revealing the invalidity of Darwinism with the help of scientific fields such as microbiology, paleontology and genetics. Hundreds of scientific conferences have been held worldwide, and about 100 documentary films have been prepared, featuring top-quality visuals and striking scientific data. Through the fossil exhibits held in numerous countries from the USA to the UK, from Holland to Hong Kong, people have witnessed the scientific basis of creation. In a dark environment, our endeavors pulled the curtain aside and let the light of knowledge shine on people, helping them know for certain that "the sun exists."

This fact can also be verified via several surveys conducted in the Western world in recent years. For example, according to a survey carried out in previous years, 50% of the Britons stated that they are either STRONGLY opposed to the theory or are confused about it. Among the rest, only 25% believe in evolution while the remaining 25% expressed doubts about the theory, saying that the theory is "probably true."  For Britain, a country regarded as the cradle of Darwinism, these statistics are quite striking. The issue also found its way into the September issue of the well-known evolutionist science magazine New Scientist under the title "A third of UK adults question evolution.” The news article notes the followings, "Nearly 30% of adults in the UK say evolution can’t explain the origin of humans” “Unexpectedly, 44% (UK adults) felt that evolutionary processes cannot explain the existence of human consciousness." According to the survey, even those who express their belief in evolution state that evolution fails to account for the soul.

The recent public opinion polls conducted by Pew and Gallup revealed that almost half of the citizens of the USA do not believe in evolution.

A US-based news channel reported in August, 2017 the news that 99% of the Muslim Turkish people do not believe in Darwinism, but rather believe in Creation.

Contrary to expectations of the evolutionists, the RNA world now proves creation

Evolutionists have worked hard for decades to offer a logical evolutionary explanation for the origin of life and unsurprisingly their explanations have failed each and every time. Most recently, their ‘RNA world’ hypothesis failed spectacularly in another major disappointment for its supporters.

Evolutionists claimed that first, RNA emerged coincidentally in the primordial earth and then through entirely coincidental events, ultimately evolved into DNA. First of all, RNA is a very complex molecule with no room for coincidences in its construction. DNA, on the other hand, is a breathtakingly complex molecule, comprising of six billion letters that are placed exactly in the right location, with definitely no room for errors. To put things into perspective, let’s remember that an unwound DNA strand is four meters long, but can marvelously fit inside an incredibly small space (10 nanometers, or 10-6 m) even though it contains information equal to that is written on 1,000,000 encyclopedia pages. This is 40 times more information that the one found in world’s biggest encyclopedia, yet is stored in every one of your 100 trillion cells. Furthermore, in this massive databank, every letter has to be in the right place. In case of the slightest mistake, there will be no DNA and consequently no life.

For this reason, claiming that coincidences played a role in the construction of these flawless structures is  ridiculous.

According to the fictitious tales of the evolutionists, after RNA ‘somehow’ came into being and supposedly turned into the DNA, ‘natural selection chose’ DNA because RNA had rather unstable structure and poor catalytic features. However, evolutionists have no answer as to why RNA was not eliminated by natural selection up to that point, despite its instability and generally poor catalytic features. Furthermore, primordial Earth was too harsh to allow for the formation of such sensitive molecules.

A recent study has revealed this truth one more time: A team of chemists from Scripps Research Institute in California decided to try a different approach to prove the RNA World hypothesis and used DNA-RNA chimeras to this end (RNA and DNA artificially joined in the lab).

However these chimeras had stability problems. Yet, unlike these chimeras that the scientists built in laboratory, in nature pure DNA and pure RNA could stay together. This incompatibility of the artificially joined RNA and DNA, compromised the molecules’ ability to hold and replicate genetic data.

In addition, in nature, if the RNA nuclease mistakenly joins a DNA strand in an organic structure, very sophisticated enzymes –which are proteins themselves- quickly fix the problem. However, such complex proteins could not have existed at that time, according to the RNA world hypothesis. Therefore, such a chimera, living only in the imagination of the evolutionists, would never survive in  primordial Earth's conditions.

Seeing the impossibility with the RNA world theory, the Scripps researchers admitted their problem and said, ‘These results point to the difficulties for the transition from one homogeneous system (RNA) to another (RNA/DNA) in an RNA world,"[i]

These findings actually confirmed what many other evolutionists found before. Biologist Jack Szostak, a Nobel Laureate, had already shown that when RNA and DNA are mixed, there would be a loss of function.

Then what was the suggestion of the Scripps researchers to this dilemma? Offering something even more impossible: They claim that the RNA and the DNA might have emerged in tandem. This actually was their acceptance of creation, because the only explanation for the emergence of these molecules at the same time in a miraculous manner, is that they are created by Almighty God.

DNA, RNA and proteins were created at once by our Almighty Lord. The fact that they cannot be built artificially despite all the guided, sensitive and controlled efforts and the expertise and knowledge of the scientists working to achieve it, clearly shows that they could have never emerged by chance in primordial Earth.

In other words, the evolutionist's efforts to prove the RNA world one more time verified the fact of creation.

Chance Conflicts with the Truth of Creation

Those who maintain that there is no contradiction between evolution and creation ignore one important point: Such people believe that Darwinism’s main claim is that living species emerged by evolving from each other. However, this is not the case, for evolutionists claim that life emerged as the result of chance, by unconscious mechanisms. In other words, life on Earth came about without a Creator and by itself from inanimate substances.

Such a claim rejects the existence of a Creator right from the start, and thus cannot be accepted by any Muslim. However, some Muslims who are unaware of this truth see no harm in supporting evolution on the assumption that God could have used evolution to create living things.

Yet they ignore one important danger: Although they are trying to show that evolution is parallel to religion, in reality they are supporting and actually agreeing with an idea that is quite impossible from their own point of view. Meanwhile, evolutionists turn a blind eye to this situation because it furthers their cause of having society accept their ideas.

Looking at the matter as a devout Muslim and thinking about it in the light of the Qur’an, a theory that is fundamentally based upon chance clearly cannot have anything in common with Islam. Evolution sees chance, time, and inanimate matter as divine, and ascribes the title of “creator” to these weak and unconscious concepts. No Muslim can accept such a pagan-based theory, for each Muslim knows that Allah, the sole Creator, created everything from nothing. Therefore, he uses science and reason to oppose all beliefs and ideas that conflict with that fact.

Evolution is a component of materialism and, according to materialism, the universe has no beginning or end, and thus no need for a Creator. This irreligious ideology suggests that the universe, galaxies, stars, planets, sun, and other heavenly bodies, as well as their flawless systems and perfect equilibrium, are the results of chance. In the same way, evolution claims that the first protein and the first cell (the building blocks of life) developed by themselves as the result of a string of blind coincidences. This same ideology claims that the wonders of design in all living things, whether they live on land, in the sea, or in the skies, are the product of chance. Although surrounded on all sides by evidence of creation, starting with the design in their own bodies, evolutionists insist upon ascribing all of that perfection to chance and unconscious processes. In other words, their main characteristic is to see chance as divine in order to deny God’s existence. However, such a refusal to accept or to see God’s evident existence and greatness changes nothing. God’s infinite knowledge and matchless art reveal themselves in everything He creates.

As a matter of fact, recent scientific advances definitively reject the evolutionists’ baseless claims that life emerged by itself and by natural processes. The superior design in life shows that a Creator Who has superior wisdom and knowledge created all living things. The fact that even the simplest organisms are irreducibly complex places all evolutionists in an impossible quandary – a fact that they themselves often admit! For example, the world-famous British mathematician and astronomer Fred Hoyle admits that life could not have come about by chance:

Once we see, however, that the probability of life originating at random is so utterly minuscule as to make it absurd…

The evolutionist Pierre-Paul Grassé confesses that ascribing a creative force to chance is pure fantasy:

Yet the Darwinian theory is even more demanding: A single plant, a single animal would require thousands and thousands of lucky, appropriate events. Thus, miracles would become the rule: events with an infinitesimal probability could not fail to occur… There is no law against daydreaming, but science must not indulge in it.

Those words make the evolutionists’ ideological dilemma perfectly clear: Even though they see that their theory is untenable and unscientific, they refuse to abandon it because of their ideological obsession. In another statement, Hoyle reveals why evolutionists believe in chance:

Indeed, such a theory (that life was assembled by an intelligence) is so obvious that one wonders why it is not widely accepted as being self-evident. The reasons are psychological rather than scientific.

What Hoyle describes as a “psychological” reason has conditioned evolutionists to deny creation. All of these reasons are sufficient evidence for Muslim evolutionists to consider evolution as nothing more than a theory designed to deny God.

The Error That Creation Out Of Water Indicates Evolutionary Creation

We created man from a mingled drop to test him, and We gave him (the gifts) of hearing and sight. (Surat al-Insan, 2)

Those who defend the evolutionary creation deceit, try to show that the statements in many verses that man was created out of water are evidence that all living things emerged from water.

When we examine another verse where the stages of human creation are discussed, the fundamental error in these comments is clearly revealed:

Mankind! If you are in any doubt about the Resurrection, know that We created you from dust, then from a drop of sperm, then from a clot of blood, then from a lump of flesh, formed yet unformed, so We may make things clear to you. We make whatever We will to stay in the womb until a specified time, and then We bring you out as children so that you can reach your full maturity. Some of you die and some of you revert to the lowest form of life so that, after having knowledge, they then know nothing at all. And you see the ground dead and barren; then when We send down water onto it it quivers and swells and sprouts with luxuriant plants of every kind. (Surat al-Hajj, 5)

In this verse, the stages of the creation of a human being are described.

Dust, i.e., substances both organic and inorganic, which are found in their elementary forms on and in the Earth, is the raw material that includes the basic minerals and elements in the human body.

The second stage is the coming together of these materials in the seminal fluid, which is described in the Qur'an as a mingled drop. This drop contains the sperm that possesses the genetic information and structure necessary to fertilize the egg inside the mother's womb. In short, the raw material for a human being is (dust of) the Earth, the essence of which is collected in a drop of seminal fluid in a manner that will bring about a human being. Following the water stage, a human being's developmental stages inside the mother's womb are described in the Qur'an. The theory of evolution, on the other hand, assumes the existence of millions of hypothetical stages (the first cell, single-celled creatures, multi-celled creatures, invertebrates, vertebrates, reptiles, mammals, primates, and countless similar stages) between the so-called spontaneous origination of life in water to a human being's formation. In the sequence presented by the verse, however, it is clear that there is no such logic or description, for a human being takes on the form of an 'alaq after he or she is in the form of a drop of water.

For this reason, it is clear that the verse is not describing the different evolutionary stages undergone by a human being, but rather the stages of creation from before and inside the mother's womb right up to old age.

Some Qur'anic commentators think that "the creation of living things from water" contains a meaning that parallels the theory of evolution. However, this view is seriously flawed. The verses reveal that water is the raw material for living things by saying that all living things were created from it. In fact, modern biology has revealed that water is the most fundamental component of all living bodies, for the human body is approximately 70 percent water. Water permits movement inside the cell, between cells, and between tissues. Without it, there would be no life. Other verses stating that human beings and other living things were created from water also contain no meaning that could be used to support evolution. The following verses are among those that contain such statements:

Do those who disbelieve not see that the heavens and Earth were sewn together and then We unstitched them, and that We made from water every living thing? So will they not believe? (Surat al-Anbiya', 30)

The verses below clearly state that the "drop of water" is semen:

He created the two sexes – male and female – out of a sperm-drop when it spurted forth (min nutfatin idha tumna); that He is responsible for the second existence. (Surat an-Najm, 45-47)

Was he not a drop of ejaculated sperm? (nutfatan min maniyin yumna) (Surat al-Qiyama, 37)

Man has only to look at that from which he was created. He was created from a spurting fluid (Khuliqa min ma'in dafiqin), emerging from between the backbone and the breastbone. (Surat aTariq, 5-7)

The Error That Creatıon Fırst From Dust And Then From Water Indıcates Evolutıonary Creatıon

... Do you then disbelieve in Him Who created you from dust, then from a drop of sperm, and then formed you as a man? (Surat al-Kahf, 37)

Omer Nasuhi Bilmen's commentary on the same verse states:

Do you deny the Almighty God Who created the Prophet Adam, the origin of your race and the cause of your creation, (from dust), Who then created you and (formed you as a man after creating you) from a nutfah and a drop of sperm, Who brought you into being as a complete human being as a result of different stages of life? Because denying the afterlife means denying the Almighty God, Who gives you the news that it will happen and Who has the power to make it happen.

The expression creation from dust describes the creation of Prophet Adam, and creation from water refers to the development of a human being, starting with the sperm. It is indicated in the verse below that God created a human being directly from dried clay. This verse, which describes the Prophet Adam's (pbuh) creation, does not speak of a stage:

When your Lord said to the angels: "I am creating a human being out of dried clay formed from fetid black mud. When I have formed him and breathed My Spirit into him, fall down in prostration in front of him!" (Surat al-Hijr, 28-29)

If the Qur'anic account of creation's stages is read carefully, bearing in mind the consecutive processes, it will be realized immediately that such an evolutionary view is incorrect.

The Qur'an contains many verses indicating that Prophet Adam, peace be upon him, was not created through an evolutionary stage. One of them reads:

The likeness of Jesus in God's Sight is the same as Adam. He created him from earth and then He said to him, "Be!" and he was. (Surah Al 'Imran, 59)

The above verse states that God created the Prophet Adam (pbuh) and the Prophet Jesus (pbuh) in the same way. As we stressed earlier, the Prophet Adam (pbuh) was created with no parents, from the Earth, at God's command "Be!" the Prophet Jesus (pbuh) also was created without father, by God's Will expressed through the command "Be!"

In the other verses that refer to creation from water and earth, it is not man's evolutionary stages that are being described, but the stages of human creation before the womb, during it, and after birth.

Mankind! The Error That The Qur'an Contains Signs Of The Evolutionary Process

There surely came over man a period of time when he was a thing not worth mentioning. (Surat al-Insan, 1)

The same people also use this verse as evidence for evolution. In translations based on personal interpretation, the expression "when he was a thing not worth mentioning" is expressed as a statement of "previous states before man became man." However, this claim is just as far the truth as the first one.

The Arabic part of the underlined section runs as follows:

lam yakun shay'an madhkuran

Trying to use this expression as evidence for evolution is really forcing the words. In fact, Qur'anic scholars do not interpret this verse as indicating an evolutionary process. For example, Hamdi Yazir of Elmali makes the following comments:

In the beginning were elements and minerals, then vegetable and animal nutrients–"a kind of clay" (Surat al-Muminun, 12) were created out of them in stages. Then, something emerged very slowly and by stages from the sperm that was filtered from them. But that was not something called a human being. Just as mankind is not eternal, nor is his substance; that emerged later. Man came into being long after the beginning of time and the creation of the universe.

Omer Nasuhi Bilmen explains the verse in this way:

These verses announce that God created man to see and hear out of a drop of water when he was not, and that He has set a test for him.… Mankind did not exist in the beginning, but was created later as a figured body out of a drop of water, soil, and clay. That person was not known at that time, his name and why he had been created were a mystery to the inhabitants of Earth and sky. He then began to be reminded that he has a soul.

As clearly stated by Islamic scholars, there is no reference in the Qur'an to "creation through evolution". The creation that is told in the Qur'an is "creation out of nothing" by God's command "Be!".

The Error That The Prophet Adam (Pbuh) Was Not The First Man

Another claim put forward regarding the error of evolutionary creation is that the Prophet Adam (pbuh) may not have been the first man and may not even have been a human being. (We absolve the Prophet Adam (pbuh)). The following verse is presented as evidence for this:

When your Lord said to the angels, "I will create a vicegerent on Earth," they said, "Why put on it one who will cause corruption on it and shed blood when we glorify You with praise and proclaim Your purity?" He said, "I know what you do not know." (Surat al-Baqara, 30)

Those who support this claim say that the Arabic verb ja'ala in the expression "I will create a vicegerent" means "to appoint." In other words, they wrongly suggest that the Prophet Adam (pbuh) was not the first man, but that that he was "appointed" as a vicegerent among many people. However, in the Qur'an, this verb has the following meanings:

To create, invent, translate, make, place and render

Some examples of Qur'anic verses where ja'ala is used are:

He created you from a single self, then produced (ja'ala) its mate from it, and sent down livestock to you – eight kinds in pairs… (Surat az-Zumar, 6)

Say: "He brought you into being and gave (ja'ala) you hearing, sight and hearts. What little thanks you show! (Surat al-Mulk, 23)

As can be seen from the above verses, ja'ala means "creation" in this verse. Furthermore, several verses state that the Prophet Adam (pbuh) was created from dust. These verses make it clear that the Prophet Adam (pbuh) was not just one man among many, but that he possessed a special and different creation.

The Error That The Prophet Adam (Pbuh) Was Created On Earth

In the Qur'an God reveals another important fact about the Prophet Adam (pbuh): his removal from the Garden of Eden. It says in the verses:

Children of Adam! Do not let satan tempt you into trouble, as He expelled your parents from the Garden, stripping them of their covering, and disclosing to them their private parts. He and his tribe see you from where you do not see them. We have made the demons friends of those who do not believe. (Surat al-Mursalat, 27)

We said: "Adam, live in the Garden, you and your wife, and eat freely from it wherever you will. But do not approach this tree and so become wrongdoers." But satan made them slip up by means of it, expelling them from where they were. We said: "Go down from here as enemies to each other! You will have residence on Earth and enjoyment for a time." (Surat al-Baqara, 35-36)

The verses' statements are perfectly clear. God created the Prophet Adam (pbuh) from dust. The Prophet Adam (pbuh) is a special creation that emerged first from his existence in the Heaven and then from his removal from it. Yet Muslims who have been deceived by evolution ignore this evident truth and maintain that "Heaven" here refers not to the Heaven in the Hereafter but to a beautiful area on Earth, despite the fact that the Qur'an specifies many features of the Heaven in which the Prophet Adam (pbuh) was created. For example, that Heaven contains both angels and the devil, and the angels speak with God. It is a mistake to produce forced interpretations and seek evidence of evolution when the verses are so clear on this matter.

Many verses state that all people are descended from the Prophet Adam (pbuh). As it is revealed in the Qur'an:

When your Lord took out all their descendants from the loins of the children of Adam and made them testify against themselves "Am I not your Lord?" they said: "We testify that indeed You are!" Lest you say on the Day of Rising: "We knew nothing of this." Or lest you say: "Our forefathers associated others with God before our time, and we are merely descendants coming after them. So are You going to destroy us for what those purveyors of falsehood did?" (Surat al-Mursalat, 172-173)

Allah (God) breathed his spirit into man

After trying to resolve the issue of how red is perceived inside the brain, how the sound of pleasant music is interpreted differently from chewing a steak and why even the most detailed MRI provides no evidence regarding the interpretation mechanism involved, Jeffrey M. Schwartz, a neuroscientist and research professor of psychiatry at the UCLA School of Medicine, goes on to ask the following important question:

...why would studying brain mechanisms, even down to the molecular level, ever provide an answer to those questions?

The answer is this: Because the answer to the interpreting mechanism is not in the brain at all. It is impossible to come by the answers to questions regarding this mechanism by studying human cells, examining neurons or performing research at the molecular level. That is because what causes a person to perceive the outside world is not inside the human body. It is something outside the brain, neurons, cells or electric signals. It is the soul bestowed on us by Almighty Allah.

Reveals Allah in one verse:

… then [He] formed him and breathed His Spirit into him and gave you hearing, sight and hearts. What little thanks you show! (Surat as-Sajda, 9)

People who fail to understand that it is the soul that perceives, and that it is independent of matter, are making a very important mistake: They face the possibility that the images they see exist on a screen in their brains. Yet when we consider that there is a screen in our brains on which the outside world exists, we also have no choice but to admit the existence of a little man watching that screen. And there must be another little man watching the screen in the brain of the first, and so on. But there is no screen and no other little man watching the events on it in the brain. The human brain is pitch black and silent. There is nothing there but neurons made up of proteins and electric signals moving very swiftly back and forth. It is impossible for those electric signals to see a flower, smell it, touch it, delight in it, see a ship sailing in the distance or enjoy the taste of a strawberry--all in a piece of flesh. It is impossible for them to experience a prolonged period of enjoyment of an orchestral symphony. It is obviously not electrical signals that produce such a lively, bustling, brightly colored, vivid, three-dimensional and perfectly sharp world. And there is also no doubt that it is not electric signals that cause one to rejoice or grieve, to feel excitement or concern, to remember and feel happy, or to miss someone and satisfy that longing. Even if the world’s most renowned professors were to work together, as Jeffrey M. Schwartz says, they still would not find this perception mechanism anywhere in the brain.

The self-conscious entity that says “I see” the images and “I hear” the sounds in the brain is the soul given to man by Allah. This is the reality that the materialist mindset is most unwilling of all to see revealed. The soul sees without the need for eyes, touches without the need for hands, hears without the need for ears, smells without the need for a nose and tastes without the need for a mouth. The soul is the only answer to the question of “who does the perceiving?” which scientists have been trying to resolve for years. Allah constantly shows images to the human soul and, day and night, whether in this world or in dreams, creates a whole world for them. Everything in that world has a perfect and flawless appearance. So much so that it is very difficult for us to realize that the sharp image and sensation of depth in front of us consists merely of an illusion and has no connection with the real outside world. This is the flawless, matchless, glorious work of our Almighty Lord, Who has the power to create infinite worlds in an area just a few centimeters in size whenever He chooses.

He is Allah – the Creator, the Maker, the Giver of Form. To Him belong the Most Beautiful Names. Everything in the heavens and Earth glorifies Him. He is the Almighty, the All-Wise. (Surat al-Hashr, 24)

A flawless image forms in our brains because Allah so wills. There are smells there because He so wills and we listen to and enjoy immaculate music because He so wishes. We also feel and recognize things by touching them because Allah so wills. The food we eat has flavor because that is what Allah wills. A whole world emerges in the human mind from nothing at Allah’s command. Our Lord creates a world from nothing in a person’s mind that belongs to that person alone, that only he can see and recognize. This world is not the outside world. It is impossible to have direct contact with the world outside. It is impossible, unless Allah so wills, for anyone to have direct experience of a world created for someone else. One can only live in and watch a world created for oneself alone by Allah. It is impossible to step outside it. In another verse, Allah reveals:

They will ask you about the Spirit. Say: “The Spirit is one of the commands of my Lord. You have only been given a little knowledge.” (Surat al-Isra’, 85)

Darwinism has been annihilated across the world

What the findings of the polls, a few of which are cited above, make crystal clear is this: ATLAS OF CREATION HAS HAD AN EXPLOSIVE IMPACT ON THE ENTIRE WORLD.

In the face of the scientific evidence people have now abandoned belief in the fraud of evolution. They now realize that Darwinism is a deception being kept alive for ideological reasons.

In the wake of the facts set out in Atlas of Creation, people have now come to see that all living creatures are brought into being by the will and at the command of our Lord, Allah. That is what the poll results show.

The level of people believing in the fact of Creation stood at 85% in a poll conducted on the web site of Blick, one of Switzerland’s widest-read newspapers.

According to a poll regarding whether or not evolution actually happened that appeared on the web site of Süddeutsche Zeitung, one of Germany’s main dailies, the level of those believing that human beings are the work of a Creator stands at 87%.

The German daily Die Welt, one of the countries most important publications, conducted a poll about Creation on its website. Eighty-six percent of the participants responded to the question “How do you think life came into being?” by saying “Allah created it.”

BIBLE, QUR’AN AND SCIENCE On the creation of life -

AUTHENTICITY OF QUR’AN -

Before getting to the essence of the subject, there is a very important point which must be considered: the authenticity of the Qur’anic text.

It is known that the text of the Qur’an was both recited from memory, during the time it was revealed, by the Prophet and the believers who surrounded him, and written down by designated scribes among his followers. This process lasted for roughly twenty-three years during which many unofficial copies were made. An official copy was made within one year after the Prophet’s death at the instruction of Caliph Abu Bakr.

Here we must note a highly important point. The present text of the Qur’an benefited in its original preparation from the advantage of having its authenticity cross-checked by the text recited from memory as well as the unofficial written texts. The memorized text was of paramount importance at a time when not everyone could read and write, but everybody could memorize. Moreover, the need for a written record was included in the text of the Qur’an itself. The first five verses of chapter al-‘Alaq, which happen to constitute the first revelation made to the Prophet (S), express this quite clearly:

“Read: In the name of your Lord who created. Who created man from a clinging entity. Read! Your Lord is the most Noble, Who taught by the pen. Who taught man what he did not know.” Qur’an, 96:1-5

These are surely words in “praise of the pen as a means of human knowledge”, to use Professor Hamidullah’s expression.

Then came the Caliphate of ‘Uthman (which lasted from the twelfth to the twenty-fourth year following Muhammad’s death). Within the first two years of Caliph ‘Uthman’s rule, seven official copies were reproduced from the official text and distributed throughout a large area of the world which had already come under Islamic rule. All unofficial copies existing at that time were destroyed and all future copies were made from the official seven copies.

In my book, The Bible, the Qur’an and Science, I have quoted passages from the Qur’an which came from the period prior to the Hijrah (the Prophet’s emigration from Makkah to Madeenah in the year 622) and which allude to the writing of the Qur’an before the Prophet’s departure from Makkah.

There were, moreover, many witnesses to the immediate transcription of the Qur’anic revelation.

Professor Jacques Berque has told me of the great importance he attaches to it in comparison with the long gap separating the writing down of the Judeo-Christian revelation from the facts and events which it relates. Let us not forget that today we also have a number of manuscripts of the first written versions of the Qur’an which were from a time period very close to the time of revelation.

I shall also mention another fact of great importance. We shall examine statements in the Qur’an which today appear to merely record scientific truth, but of which men in former times were only able to grasp the apparent meaning. In some cases, these statements were totally incomprehensible. It is impossible to imagine that, if there were any alterations to the texts, these obscure passages scattered throughout the text of the Qur’an, were all able to escape human manipulation. The slightest alteration to the text would have automatically destroyed the remarkable coherence which is characteristic to them. Change in any text would have prevented us from establishing their total conformity with modern knowledge. The presence of these statements spread throughout the Qur’an looks (to the impartial observer ) like an obvious hallmark of its authenticity.

The Qur’an is a revelation made known to humans in the course of twenty-three years. It spanned two periods of almost equal length on either side of the Hijrah. In view of this, it was natural for reflections having a scientific aspect to be scattered throughout the Book. In a study, such as the one we have made, we had to regroup the verses according to subject matter, collecting them chapter by chapter.

How should they be classified? I could not find any indications in the Qur’an suggesting any particular classification, so I decided present them according to my own personal one.

It would seem to me, that the first subject to deal with is Creation. Here it is possible to compare the verses referring to this topic with the general ideas prevalent today on the formation of the Universe. Next, I divided up verses under the following general headings: Astronomy, the Earth, the Animal and Vegetable Kingdoms, Humans, and Human Reproduction in particular. Furthermore, I thought it useful to make a comparison between Qur’anic and Biblical narrations on the same topics from the point of view of modern knowledge. This has been done in the cases of Creation, the Flood and the Exodus. The reason that these topics were chosen is that knowledge acquired today can be used in the interpretation of the texts.

BIOLOGY

More than anything else, I was struck by statements in the Qur’an dealing with living things, both in the animal and vegetable kingdoms, especially with regard to reproduction. We should really devote much more time to this subject, but, due to the limited scope of this presentation, I can only give a few examples.

I must once again stress the fact that it is only in modern times that scientific progress has made the hidden meaning of some Qur’anic verses comprehensible to us. Numerous translations and commentaries on the Qur’an have been made by learned men who had no access to modern scientific knowledge. It is for this reason that scientists find some of their interpretations unacceptable.

There are also other verses whose obvious meanings are easily understood, but which conceal

scientific meanings which are startling, to say the least. This is the case of a verse in chapter al-Ambiyaa, a part of which has already been quoted:

“Do the unbelievers not realize that the heavens and the earth were joined together,

then I clove them asunder and I made every living thing out of water. Will they still not believe?” Qur’an, 21:30

This is a dramatic affirmation of the modern idea that the origin of life is aquatic.

Physiology

In the field of physiology, there is one verse which appears extremely significant to me. One thousand years before the discovery of the blood circulatory system, and roughly thirteen centuries before it was determined that the internal organs were nourished by the process of digestive , a verse in the Qur’an described the source of the constituents of milk, in conformity with scientific facts.

To understand this verse, it must first be known that chemical reactions occur between food and enzymes in the mouth, the stomach and the intestines releasing nutrients in molecular form which are then absorbed into the circulatory system through countless microscopic projections of the intestinal wall called villi. Blood in the circulatory system then transports the nutrients to all the organs of the body, among which are the milk-producing mammary glands.

This biological process must be basically understood, if we are to understand a verse in the Qur’an which has for many centuries given rise to commentaries that were totally incomprehensible.

Today it is not difficult to see why! This verse is taken from the chapter an-Nahl:

“Verily, in cattle there is a lesson for yon. I give you drink from their insides, coming from a conjunction between the digested contents ( of the intestines ) and the blood, milk pure and pleasant for those who drink it.” Qur’an, 16:66

The constituents of milk are secreted by the mammary glands which are nourished by the product of food digestion brought to them by the bloodstream. The initial event which sets the whole process in motion is the conjunction of the contents of the intestine and blood at the level of the intestinal wall itself.

This very precise concept is the result of the discoveries made in the chemistry and physiology of the digestive system over one thousand years after the time of Prophet Muhammad (S).

EMBRYOLOGY

There are a multitude of statements in the Qur’an on the subject of human reproduction which constitute a challenge to the embryologist seeking a human explanation for them. It was only after the birth of the basic sciences which contributed to our knowledge of biology and the invention of the microscope, that humans were able to understand the depth of those Qur’anic statements. It was impossible for a human being living in the early seventh century to have accurately expressed such ideas. There is nothing to indicate that people in the Middle-East and Arabia knew anything more about this subject than people living in Europe or anywhere else. Today, there are many Muslims, possessing a thorough knowledge of the Qur’an and natural sciences, who have recognized the amazing similarity between the verses of the Qur’an dealing with reproduction and modern scientific knowledge.

I shall always remember the comment of an eighteen-year-old Muslim, brought up in Saudi Arabia, commenting on a reference to human reproduction as described in the Qur’an. He pointed to the Qur’an and said, “This book provides us with all the essential information on the subject. When I was at school, my teachers used the Qur’an to explain how children were born. Your books on sex-education are a bit late on the scene!”

If I were to spend as long on all the details of reproduction contained in the Qur’an, as the subject merits, this pamphlet would become a book. The detailed linguistic and scientific explanations I have given in The Bible, The Qur’an and Science are sufficient for the person who does not speak Arabic nor know much about embryology to be able to understand the meaning of such verses in the light of modern science in more depth.

It is especially in the field of embryology that a comparison between the beliefs present at the time of the Qur’an’s revelation and modern scientific data, leaves us amazed at the degree of agreement between the Qur’an’s statements and modern scientific knowledge. Not to mention the total absence of any reference in the Qur’an to the mistaken ideas that were prevalent around the world at the time.

Fertilization

Let us now isolate, from all these verses, precise ideas concerning the complexity of the semen and the fact that an infinitely small quantity is required to ensure fertilization. In chapter al-Insaan the Qur’an states:

“Verily, I created humankind from a small quantity of mingled fluids.” Qur’an, 76:2

The Arabic word nutfah has been translated as “small quantity”. It comes from the verb meaning ‘to dribble, to trickle’ and is used to describe what remains in the bottom of a bucket which has been emptied. The verse correctly implies that fertilization is performed by only a very small volume of liquid.

On the other hand, mingled fluids ( amshaaj ) has been understood by early commentators to refer to the mixture of male and female discharges. Modern authors have corrected this view and note that the sperm is made up of various components.

When the Qur’an talks of a fertilizing fluid composed of different components, it also informs us that human progeny will be formed from something extracted from this liquid. This is the meaning of the following verse in chapter as-Sajdah:

“Then He made [ man’s ] offspring from the essence of a despised fluid.”

Qur’an, 32:8

The Arabic word translated by the term ‘essence’ is sulaalah which means ‘something extracted, the best part of a thing’. In whatever way it is translated, it refers to part of a whole. Under normal conditions, only one single cell, spermatozoon, out of over 50 million ejaculated by a man during sexual intercourse will actually penetrate the ovule.

Implantation

Once the egg has been fertilized in the fallopian tube, it descends to lodge itself inside the uterus. This process is called the ‘implantation of the egg’. Implantation is a result of the development of villosities, which, like roots in the soil, draw nourishment from the wall of the uterus and make the egg literally cling to the womb. The process of implantation is appropriately described in several verses by the word ‘alaq, which is also the title of the chapter in which one of the verses appears:

“God fashioned humans from a clinging entity.” Qur’an, 96:2

I do not think there is any reasonable translation of the word ‘alaq other than to use it in its original sense. It is a mistake to speak of a ‘blood clot’ here, which is the term Professor Hamidullah uses in his translation. It is a derivative meaning which is not as appropriate in this context.

Embryo

The evolution of the embryo inside the maternal uterus is only briefly described, but the description is accurate, because the simple words referring to it correspond exactly to fundamental stages in its growth. This is what we read in a verse from the chapter al-Mu’minoon:

“I fashioned the clinging entity into a chewed lump of flesh and I fashioned the chewed flesh into bones and I clothed the bones with intact flesh.” Qur’an, 23:14

The term ‘chewed flesh’ (mudghah) corresponds exactly to the appearance of the embryo at a certain stage in its development.

It is known that the bones develop inside this mass and that they are then covered with muscle. This is the meaning of the term ‘intact flesh’ (lahm).

The embryo passes through a stage where some parts are in proportion and others out of proportion with what is later to become the individual. This is the obvious meaning of a verse in the chapter al-Hajj, which reads as follows:

“I fashioned (humans) a clinging entity, then into a lump of flesh in proportion and out of proportion.” Qur’an, 22:5.

Next, we have a reference to the appearance of the senses and internal organs in the chapter as-Sajdah:

“… and (God) gave you ears, eyes and hearts.” Qur’an, 32:9

Nothing here contradicts today’s data and, furthermore, none of the mistaken ideas of the time have crept into the Qur’an. Throughout the Middle Ages there were a variety of beliefs about human development based on myths and speculations which continued for several centuries after the period. The most fundamental stage in the history of embryology came in 1651 with Harvey’s statement that “all life initially comes from an egg”. At that time, when science had benefited greatly from the invention of the microscope, people were still arguing about the respective roles of the egg and spermatozoon. Buffon, the great naturalist, was one of those in favor of the egg theory.Bonnet, on the other hand, supported the theory of ‘the ovaries of Eve’, which stated that Eve, the mother of the human race, was-supposed to have had inside her the seeds of all human beings packed together one inside the other.

In the Holy Quran, God speaks about the stages of man’s embryonic development :

“We created man from an extract of clay.  Then We made him as a drop in a place of settlement, firmly fixed.  Then We made the drop into an alaqah (leech, suspended thing, and blood clot), then We made the alaqah into a mudghah (chewed substance)…” (Quran 23:12-14)

Literally, the Arabic word alaqah has three meanings: (1) leech, (2) suspended thing, and (3) blood clot.

In comparing a leech to an embryo in the alaqah stage, we find similarity between the two[1]  as we can see in figure 1.  Also, the embryo at this stage obtains nourishment from the blood of the mother, similar to the leech, which feeds on the blood of others.[2]

The second meaning of the word alaqah is “suspended thing.”  This is what we can see in figures 2 and 3, the suspension of the embryo, during the alaqah stage, in the womb of the mother.

The third meaning of the word alaqah is “blood clot.”  We find that the external appearance of the embryo and its sacs during the alaqah stage is similar to that of a blood clot.  This is due to the presence of relatively large amounts of blood present in the embryo during this stage[3]  (see figure 4).  Also during this stage, the blood in the embryo does not circulate until the end of the third week.[4]  Thus, the embryo at this stage is like a clot of blood.

So the three meanings of the word alaqah correspond accurately to the descriptions of the embryo at the alaqah stage.

The next stage mentioned in the verse is the mudghah stage.  The Arabic word mudghah means “chewed substance.”  If one were to take a piece of gum and chew it in his or her mouth and then compare it with an embryo at the mudghah stage, we would conclude that the embryo at the mudghah stage acquires the appearance of a chewed substance.  This is because of the somites at the back of the embryo that “somewhat resemble teeth marks in a chewed substance.” HYPERLINK "https://www.islamreligion.com/articles/216/quran-on-human-embryonic-development/#_ftn10334"[5] (see figures 5 and 6).

How could Muhammad, may the mercy and blessings of God be upon him, have possibly known all this 1400 years ago, when scientists have only recently discovered this using advanced equipment and powerful microscopes which did not exist at that time?  Hamm and Leeuwenhoek were the first scientists to observe human sperm cells (spermatozoa) using an improved microscope in 1677 (more than 1000 years after Muhammad).  They mistakenly thought that the sperm cell contained a miniature preformed human being that grew when it was deposited in the female genital tract.

Professor Emeritus Keith L. Moore is one of the world’s most prominent scientists in the fields of anatomy and embryology and is the author of the book entitled The Developing Human, which has been translated into eight languages.  This book is a scientific reference work and was chosen by a special committee in the United States as the best book authored by one person.  Dr. Keith Moore is Professor Emeritus of Anatomy and Cell Biology at the University of Toronto, Toronto, Canada.  There, he was Associate Dean of Basic Sciences at the Faculty of Medicine and for 8 years was the Chairman of the Department of Anatomy.  In 1984, he received the most distinguished award presented in the field of anatomy in Canada, the J.C.B. Grant Award from the Canadian Association of Anatomists.  He has directed many international associations, such as the Canadian and American Association of Anatomists and the Council of the Union of Biological Sciences.

In 1981, during the Seventh Medical Conference in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, Professor Moore said: “It has been a great pleasure for me to help clarify statements in the Quran about human development.  It is clear to me that these statements must have come to Muhammad from God, because almost all of this knowledge was not discovered until many centuries later.  This proves to me that Muhammad must have been a messenger of God.”

Consequently, Professor Moore was asked the following question: “Does this mean that you believe that the Quran is the word of God?”  He replied: “I find no difficulty in accepting this.”

During one conference, Professor Moore stated: “....Because the staging of human embryos is complex, owing to the continuous process of change during development, it is proposed that a new system of classification could be developed using the terms mentioned in the Quran and Sunnah (what Muhammad, may the mercy and blessings of God be upon him, said, did, or approved of).  The proposed system is simple, comprehensive, and conforms with present embryological knowledge.  The intensive studies of the Quran and hadeeth (reliably transmitted reports by the Prophet Muhammad’s companions of what he said, did, or approved of) in the last four years have revealed a system for classifying human embryos that is amazing since it was recorded in the seventh century A.D.  Although Aristotle, the founder of the science of embryology, realized that chick embryos developed in stages from his studies of hen’s eggs in the fourth century B.C., he did not give any details about these stages.  As far as it is known from the history of embryology, little was known about the staging and classification of human embryos until the twentieth century.  For this reason, the descriptions of the human embryo in the Quran cannot be based on scientific knowledge in the seventh century.  The only reasonable conclusion is: these descriptions were revealed to Muhammad from God.  He could not have known such details because he was an illiterate man with absolutely no scientific training.”

Allah, the Creator of everything, created mankind and can easily resurrect us on the Day of Judgement -

It is Allah Who heaps up the heavy clouds, heats and brightens the Earth, varies the direction of the winds, holds birds suspended up in the sky, splits the seed, makes a man's heart beat, ordains photosynthesis in plants, and keeps planets in their separate orbits.

People generally surmise that such phenomena occur according to "the laws of physics," "gravity," "aerodynamics," or other physical factors; however, there is one significant truth these people ignore: all such physical laws were created by Allah, the only possessor of power in the universe.

Allah rules all the systems at any moment in the universe, regardless of whether we are aware of them, or if we are asleep, sitting, walking. Each of the myriad of processes in the universe, all essential to our existence, is under Allah's control. Even our ability to just take a small step forward depends on Allah's creation in countless minute details, including Earth's force of gravity, the structure of the human skeleton, the nervous system and muscular system, the brain, the heart, and even the rotation speed of the Earth.

Planned and Decreed

Attributing the existence of the world and of the entire universe to sheer coincidence is complete delusion. The exquisite order of the Earth and the universe completely contradicts the possibility of formation through coincidence, and is, rather, a clear sign of Allah's infinite might.

Some people hold the perverted belief that Allah "created everything and then left them on their own." However, any event, taking place in any area of the universe, occurs solely by Allah's Will, and under His control: 

“Do you not know that Allah knows everything in heaven and Earth? That is in a Book. That is easy for Allah.” (Al-Hajj, 22: 70)

It is very important to grasp this fact for someone who strives to come near to Allah. The prayer of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, quoted below is a very good example of this:

“O Allah: All the Praises are for You: You are the Lord of the Heavens and the Earth. All the Praises are for You;

You are the Maintainer of the Heaven and the Earth and whatever is in them. All the Praises are for You;

You are the Light of the Heavens and the Earth. Your Word is the Truth, and Your Promise is the Truth, and the Meeting with You is the Truth, and Paradise is the Truth, and the (Hell) Fire is the Truth, and the Hour is the Truth.

O Allah! I surrender myself to You, and I believe in You and I depend upon You, and I repent to You and with You (Your evidences) I stand against my opponents, and to you I leave the judgment (for those who refuse my message).

O Allah! Forgive me my sins that I did in the past or will do in the future, and also the sins I did in secret or in public. You are my only God (Whom I worship) and there is no other God for me (i.e. I worship none but You).” (Al-Bukhari)

Yourself an Example

Elaborate processes taking place in the bodies of living things are impressive examples that help us to grasp Allah's might. For instance, at every moment, your kidneys filter your blood and extricate those harmful molecules to be excreted from the body.

This screening and elimination process, which can be carried out by a single kidney cell, can only be accomplished by a giant haemodialyser (artificial kidney). A haemodialyser was consciously designed by scientists. A kidney, however, does not sense, or have a decision-making centre, nor the faculty of thought. In other words, an unconscious kidney cell can accomplish tasks that otherwise demand an elaborate thinking process.

It is possible to encounter millions of such examples in living beings. Molecules, composed of unconscious matter, perform tasks so remarkable they would otherwise suggest consciousness. The consciousness apparent in these cases though is, of course, of Allah's infinite wisdom and knowledge. It is Allah Who created the kidney cells, as well as the molecules discussed, and Who orders them to accomplish their respective tasks. In the Qur'an, Allah informs us that He constantly sends down "commands" to the beings He created:

“It is Allah Who created the seven heavens and of the Earth the same number, the Command descending down through all of them, so that you might know that Allah has power over all things and that Allah encompasses all things in His knowledge.” (At-Talaq, 65: 12)

Clearly, Allah, Who created everything in the universe, is surely able to bring the dead to life:

“Do they not see that Allah-He Who created the heavens and the Earth and was not wearied by creating them-has the power to bring the dead to life? Yes indeed! He has power over all things.” (Al-Ahqaf, 46: 33).
