2. RECITATION OF SURAH AL’ALA Surah Al A’la was recited by the prophet of allah muhammad peace be upon him on various occasion. There are numerous narrations by scholars of tafseer in regard to the recitation of surah Al A’la. This surah is recited during the following occasions: ⦁ On Friday prayer 2)During the witr prayer 3) During The Two Eid 4) and in other prayers too

3. Narrated Samurah ibn Jundub: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite in the Friday prayer: "Glorify the name of your most high Lord" (Surah 87) and Has the story of the overwhelming event reached you? (Surah 88). ‏

4. It was narrated that An-Nu'man bin Bashir (RA)said: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite 'Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High' and 'Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the day of resurrection)?' in the Jumu'ah prayer, and sometimes 'Eid and jumu'ah would fall on the same day, and he would recite them in both 'Eid and jumu'ah prayer."

5. It was narrated that Samurah رضي الله عنه said: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite in jumu'ah prayer: 'Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most Hight' and: 'Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)‏ ‏.‏

6. Al-Nu'man b. Bashir رضي الله عنه said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite at the two 'Ids (festivals) and on Friday, "Glorify the name of your most high Lord." (87) and "Has the story of the overwhelming reached you?" (88) He said: When a festival ('Id) and a Friday coincided, he recited them both (at the two prayers).‏

7. It was narrated from Abu ‘Inabah Al-Khawlani رضي الله عنه that the Prophet (ﷺ) used to recite “Glorify the Name of your Lord the Most High” and “Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e., the Day of Resurrection)? [Al-A’la (87) and Al-Ghashiyah (88)] on Friday.

8. Nu'man b. Bashir رضي الله عنه reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite on two 'Ids and in Friday prayer: " Glorify The name of Thy Lord, the Most High" (Surah no 87), and:" Has there come to thee the news of the overwhelming event" (surah no 88). And when the 'Id and Jumu'a combined on a day he recited these two (surah) in both the prayers.

Muhammad bin Al-Muthanna (may Allah's mercy be upon him) informed us, he said "Muhammad said: Shu'bah رضي الله عنه narrated to us, he said: I heard Qatadah narrating from Zurarah, from Abdur-Rahman bin Abza, that The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite in witr: Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High.'

19. ⦁ Surah Al A’la is recommended to be recited in the first unit (rakah) of witr prayer Abdul-Aziz bin Juraij said: "I asked Aishah رضي الله عنها about what (recitation) Allah's Messenger would perform Al-Witr with. 20. It was narrated that Ubayy bin Ka'b رضي الله عنه said: "In the first rak'ah of witr, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite: "GLorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High;" in the second; "Say: O you disbelievers!" and in the third; "Say: He is Allah, (the) One."

21. It was narrated from Ubayy bin Ka'b رضي الله عنه that: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to pray witr with three rak'ahs. In the first he would recite: "Glorify the Name of Your Lord, the Most High" in the second: "Say: O you disbelievers!", and in the third: "Say: He is Allah, (the) One". And he would say the Qunut before bowing, and when he finished he would say: Subhanal-Malikil-Quddus (Glory be to the Sovereign, the Most Holy) three times, elongating the words the last time.

22. It was narrated that Ubayy bin Ka'b رضي الله عنه said: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite: "Glorify the Name of Your Lord, the Most High;" in witr, in the second rak'ah he would recite: "Say: O you disbelievers!"; and in the third "Say: He is Allah, (the) One". And he only said the taslim at the end, and he would say- meaning after the taslim: Subhanal-Malikil-Quddus (Glory be to the Sovereign, the Most Holy)' three times."

23. Zakariyya bin Abi Za'idah (May allah’s mercy be upon him) narrated from Abu Ishaq (May allah’s mercy be upon him), from Sa'id bin Jubair (May allah’s mercy be upon him), that Ibn Abbas رضي الله عنه said: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to pray witr with three rak'ahs. 24. The Recitation of Surah Al A’la during the two Eid What Has Been Related About recitation of surah Al a’la during the eid’ain Surah Al A’la is also recommended to be recited during the two eid that is eid ul Fitr and eid ul Azha. An-Numan bin Bashir رضي الله عنه narrated: "For the two Eid and the Friday prayer, the Prophet would recite: Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High, and Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming? And sometimes they would occur on the same day, so he would recite the two of them."‏.‏

25. It was narrated from An-Nu'man bin Bashir (رضي الله عنه) that: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite on the two 'Eids and on Friday: "GLorify the Name of Your Lord, the Most High" and "Has there come to you the narration of The Overwhelming?" Sometimes the two ('Eid and Jumu'ah) occurred on the same day, and he would recite them (these two Surahs).

28. ⦁ RECITATION IN OTHER PRAYERS: ⦁ Reciting: "Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High" in zuhr Abu Bakr bin An-Nadr said: "We were in At-Taff with Anas, and he led them in praying Zuhr. When he had finished, he said: 'I prayed Zuhr with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and he recited two surahs for us in the two rak'ahs: "Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High' and 'Has there come to you the narration of the over-whelming (i.e. The Day of Resurrection)?'"

29. ⦁ Reciting: "Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High" in Maghrib It was narrated that Jabir r.a said: "A man from among the Ansar passed Mu'adh leading two camels, when he (Mu'adh) was praying maghrib, and he was starting to recite Al-Baqarah. So that man prayed then went away. News of that reached the Prophet (ﷺ) and he said: 'Do you want to cause hardship to the people, O Mu'adh; do you want to cause hardship to the people, O Mu'adh? Why don't you recite: 'Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High' and 'By the sun and its brightness' and the like?'"

30. ⦁ Reciting: "Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High" in Isha' It was narrated that Jabir رضي الله عنه said: "Muadh stood up and prayed Isha', and made it lengthy. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: 'Do you want to cause hardship to the people, O Mu'adh; do you want to cause hardship to the people O Mu'adh? Why didn't you recite 'Glorify the Name of your Lord Most High' or Ad-Duha or; 'When the heaven is cleft asunder?"

GLORIFYING WHEN ALLAH’S ATTRIBUTE OF TRANSCENDENCE IS MENTIONED It was narrated from Hudhaifah رضي الله عنه that the Prophet (ﷺ) prayed, and when he recited a Verse which mentioned mercy, he would ask for mercy; when he recited a Verse that mentioned punishment he would pray for deliverance from it; and when he recited a Verse that mentioned the Tanzih of Allah, he would glorify Him..‏

42. GLORIFICATION IN RUKU AND SUJOOD Uqbah bin ‘Amir Al-Juhani said: “When the following was revealed: ‘So glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most Great’,[69:52] the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to us: ‘Say this in your Ruku’.’ And when the following was revealed: ‘Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High.’[87:1] the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to us: ‘Say this in your prostrations.’”
